Chris,
Ditto what Robert and Tom said. Take your time and get it right. We know the finished product will be first class and worth the wait.
Tim
P.S. I am, however expecting at least a full second drop in ET from installing this thing though!

Yep, it sure felt heavy when I pulled it with carbs attached yesterday while in the process of changing lifters .
Here's to hoping the aluminum one shows up this month!

Hope you did not hurt yourself.

We will see what happens this month. I am a patient person if I think good will come at the end of the waiting period. Tom V.

Nope - didn't hurt myself or the car! And it ran with no parts left over when I got it back together .
I'm patient as well and I know we can all be confident in the product if it gets your 'thumbs up'! Is the plan for it to be an exact aluminum copy of the stock piece, or will there be any modifications from the stock '66 intake?

Update: I was told I will have a machined sample of the intake at the POCI Nationals in 3 weeks. We're going to display it there and then at the GTO Nationals. Hopefully we'll get another one to Tom to do some testing on at the same time.

Ok, crazy idea here. I am getting a stock 400 with headers that was rebuilt (maybe mild cam?) If I buy this intake and the Holley carbs, how much perf. gain will be expected over say a RPM intake and a 750 DP? Also, where can I buy all the linkage for this? I don't really feel like piecing all this together. (One piece of linkage here, one there...) If there is an aftermarket place I can get the linkage and the carbs and everything bolt right on, I am interested once this becomes availible!

also, going to talk my friend into one for his 66 LeMans if i get one and it works out

Who has all the 66 carbs? Are they being reproduced yet?

the center carb can be made as a clone from a 350 pontiac 2bbl I believe and end carbs are around. They are on ebay all the time, usually around 150-200 each for good rebuildable cores.I have a center and 2 sets of ends right now.

Tom, the center carb can be cloned easier from a 400 2-barrel. Methinks you are a wee bit low on 'good rebuildable end cores'. And I guess one's definition of good rebuildable core would make some difference. However, even at $500. each for good rebuildable end cores, this cost doesn't even approach reproduction costs. I personally don't think reproduction end carbs is going to happen.
