I think that screwing with headers on a pontiac is just a rite of passage.
I had to replace a weeping head gasket and when bolting the headers back up I spent over an hour just getting one bolt started on the passenger side behind #6. And I know that some people have spent much, much more time than that. My friend bought a nice set of coated hedmans for his 69 GTO and we had to fight them in. Scratched them up too I've got some 2 inch super comps coming and I can't wait to install them

Wasn't rust??? Oh, yeah, it must be a rare form of bronze mildew that only forms on ceramic coated headers in Wisconsin! StaffoloDougi fungus!
From a customer service standpoint, the message you got was, 1) "Quit dis-ing us on the web, we're the best around," 2) "No one else would mess with this, so be GLAD we are, you insignificant bug!" And let's not forget, 3) "for you trouble, you can spend $150 instead of $175 for ceramic coating." OK, that's overstating it a bit but you get the point. Hats off to CCASS for stepping in to help out. He understands that one complaint can drive other people to spend their money elsewhere. CCASS did what Doug's should have done, try to make it right with no questions asked. It's too bad Doug's customer service took a defensive stance. This could have been a golden opportunity to impress their core Pontiac market. I'm hoping the set I got from PY fits well. I don't know if I'd have the patience to send my headers back and forth like that. I'd be putting them on ebay and buy a set of Summits if I have to dent and scratch 'em.

Doug's Headers installed easy and fit great in my '65 GTO.

I would also love to see a picture of the passenger side Dougs D590 headers off of the car.
I also want to thank CCAS for calling. CCAS has seen alot of my money and has always given me a good product. We will see how much he likes me if the next time I send the headers away its to him for a refund Hey Darb tell me how you really feel!

Well after emailing with Darrell,I found the set I put on are hitting in the same spot.
I hate the taste of crow! Since Chris and Brian are not availible(out of town), Ed from PY gave me their contact person at Dougs. So far they have been very helpful,I will have more info tomorrow after they get my pictures.

For my 67 Firebird, I'm getting ready to order headers soon. Motor is out, and just freshly painted. Almost all together. Should I install the headers before installing the motor? Right now, both frnders are off, as well as the passenger side inner fender.
Also, can anyone suggest header brand for my specific car? Thanks Chris

I installed a set of Dougs on my 70 GTO and had very little problems. I have a 4spd and have no clearence issues. I had to remove the starter and I think I also removed the oil filter. Very happy with the quality and installation. However I don't have anything to compare it too.

I started the Judge yesterday and I must admit I have the meanist sounding car I ever heard. I have Pypes 3" X with the 3" Vtube mufflers and 2.5" tails. I think it may be to loud and I will expect to be ticketed. But this thing sounds mean mean mean!!!
