Imagine imagine, who cares? Do what you do with your car and enjoy it. If you don't, why even have it?
Posting the quickest or fastest means nothing. Posting HP numbers based on weight in a 1/4 mile run means nothing. Anyone can buy HP. I thought having fun was the main ingredient. It would be great if KRE dropped the suit and made whole for their failed product. Get over it and move on. Then the whole Pontiac community could possibly be the quickest and the fastest on their power.

I respect the guys that take a street car and go 9's and 10's
When I go to the track these are the guys I go to watch no the rail guys. The rail guys do crack me up,,,, put a big engine on a skateboard and say I'M ONE OF THE BIG DOGS, cant run with me stay home ! I enjoy reading what P-dude has to say and what information he gives. I have purchase from dude and he has been A++++ to do business with. The stuff said about the MR-1 block from one person that wasn't happy with his dealing with that company, at that time I was still planning on buying a block from them until I read the recall letter, that is what changed my mind, not the stuff that was posted about the company. As far as everyone saying this company is doing stuff for the Pontiac community, there doing for there pocket books, they see a market and a chance to make money. do it as a nonprofit business then. The post pay it forward. That is helping the Pontiac community. |

Build the new head with RAV exhaust. Then we could keep some of our idenity.Hell you can still find header gaskets for those things once in awhile.Even though Ford helped out with the heads Pontiac made them. The RAV exhaust works.A RAV head still has the best flow of any head that has been on Whittmores bench. You would kill two birds with one stone. You could use a real header and help out with the heat around the center bolt. Its a win win and still looks like a Pontiac to people who know what all Pontiacs look like.We need some 2 1/4" primarys, some nice custom step headers.Everyone else can run them but for us its a issue.Be done with it.
REDs do kind of blow. The small block chevy ones are the worst variety. They cant even do a good burnout, people in the stands go for a hot dog when they show up. |

I know many of you think that the exhaust configuration should be changed to a symetrical style of which I agree, but then a Pontiac will loose it's identity.
I think the identity waved bye bye long ago with the blue oval intake and rocker covers......

I thought this thread was about horsepower? What does ET have to do with power? MPH and weight of vehicle show horsepower.

The farm boys in Ohio can claim whatever they like to try and sell product. That's their right.
Their reputation outweighs any claims they may or not make. Those in the know........know. For the record, My best ET to date is [email protected] weighing 2400lbs. Anyone with a sim program can plug that data into a 1600lb dragster and see how it comes up. |

ET is not a measure of HP as much as MPH is and that why Scott Rex and John Langer's cars right now have the most NA HP. Anyone can put a low HP motor in a digger and run a good time, but they are boring to watch.
I have bought many parts from KRE and have enjoyed many conversations with Jeff, but I agree with Ron H. Kauffman needs to right all the wrongs with faulty products and drop the suit. Until then I will shop elsewhere and will not recommend them to other Pontiac enthusiast. And for the Record I have easily dropped 10k with KRE. I know that is not as much as others have spent, but for my hard earned money it is alot. Robert

Scott, I think if we put your motor in a 1600lb red, you would be knocking on the door of the quickest Pontiac (NA or boosted) 1/4 to date. BES has managed to get the most power out of a Pontiac to date. Thats not a point of debate, its simply a fact. |

Scott just to clarify, when you ran T/S in New Jersey, you ran that 7.38 on Thursday's OPEN Test n Tune but when you were qualifying for the Top Sportmans race you only ran 7:49(?) on the qualifying sheet, am I correct. Thats fast!!!

INJUNTOM - Thanks for the links, I had forgotten about the fastest street car races. He had that car flying!

Realistically I think Scott's engine would be good for 6.90's on average in a light dragster.

wow intersting thread.but before gas gets to 5 bucks a gallon, and since we have 2 months to norwalk, why doesnt everyone just go to the pontiac nationals and see whos the fastest, frantic four, quick sixteen and so on.plus since most of it is bracket racing doesnt really matter about hp.its how consistent you and your car are anyway, i dunno maybe i see too much talk, too many excuses and not enough action.besides talkin smack with a keyboard isnt much fun, face to face is wayyyy better

All of you go screw yourselves. I have the fastest and quickest 1965 Pontiac GTO built on November 3, 1964 at aproximately 2:31 PM.

I was talking with the owner of a nitro injected FED the other day and he is pushing for 6.40's. It's not blown and it's not a Pontiac. He has a crew and a driver and spends a lot of $$$ to go fast.
He made a statement that is so true. He said " all this going fast stuff is, is an ego trip" Bracket racing is one thing. Q16 is another Jagtec said something about dragsters being boring and emptying the stands. I think dragsters are cool. I just don't like the throttle stop cars or dragsters. Now that's boring.
