Very glad to hear that you found good help! What gear have you been running? Just curious to hear how big a change you are making.

Not too big a change in gearing. Going from a 3.23 open to 3.55 posi but the front bearing was noisy so it needed work anyway. I've wanted to put in the BOP posi carrier I've had sitting around for years and Jake seemd like the guy to do it. I just wasn't confident enough to set it up myself.

He's also removing my junk headers w 2" exhaust and putting in the RARE RAIII manifolds with 2 1/2" xover pipes and Dynamax Ultraflows. more parts I've had here for years but just never had the time to install.

I have also been thinking about puttin in a higher stall converter. I have a stock one in there and I've had quotes of like $500-600 for a transmission shop to do it TC included. Kind of high I thought for just a TC change on an orig TH400 that may die real soon. Jake is offering a deal on his stage I 200R4 rebuilds and i can get it installed with the higher stall converter and have something solid I can depend on with a lower cruising RPM. One step at a time.

The 3.55 posi would be really sweet with an OD transmission. I would be very tempted.

I just put the same exhaust system in my car and I think I am going to really like it. RARE manifolds, 2-1/2" Pypes with X and Ultraflows. The manifolds are solid and look good, and the exhaust is really quiet cruising which is what I wanted for my convertible. I haven't yet had the opportunity to hear what it sounds like with the engine really opened up.
