[QUOTE=Robert C.;3827489]Ha ha ha. Retard! See if I ever save your life again, Tom V. said (let him turn a little more blue in the face before you pound him on the back).
The part (during that visit) that I remember was when Ken "grossed out the lady sitting one table over" when the food came out of his nose (like a ATI Supercharger By-pass Valve opening up). I thought you were going to have to do the "Hemlock" deal on him. Yep, you saved his life for sure, and look at how he treats you. Lucky I was not sitting next to him, I would have put him out of his misery with my knife. Tom Vaught

I would have performed an emergency tracheotomy on him and that deal would have been no fun for anyone. Not that difficult of a procedure to learn really.
Quote: "This procedure, technically called a cricothyroidotomy, should be undertaken only when a person with a throat obstruction is not able to breathe at all-no gasping sounds, no coughing-and only after you have attempted to perform the Heimlich maneuver three times without dislodging the obstruction. If possible, someone should call for paramedics while you proceed. What you will need * A first aid kit, if available * A razor blade or very sharp knife ( I had that deal) * A straw (two would be better) or a ballpoint pen with the inside (ink-filled tube) removed. (We were at a restaurant, lots of straws available) If neither a straw nor a pen is available, use stiff paper or cardboard rolled into a tube. Good first aid kits may contain "trache" tubes. There will not be time for sterilization of your tools, so do not bother; infection is the least of your worries at this point." http://www.tracheostomy.com/resource.../emergency.htm Tom Vaught ps One of my best friends was a Special Forces Medic and taught me how to do the procedure properly.

Tom,
Remember, I took his wallet out of his pocket, shocking him. That cause him to dislodge the hunk of meat. This saved his life, tight wad. I thought that he was already dead.

Yep, Bob, I forgot about the wallet deal. He probably thought you were taking back his discount on the price of the block we delivered to him that morning before the lunch.

I think he used a ball point pen barrell though. Hollywood likes to show this procedure in movies, which can be dangerous I remember from EMT training class years ago as one or more vocal cord nerves can be cut. The movie "Switchback" with Danny Glover had one I remember seeing. Stephen Hawkins (physics genius) had one that went bad, iirc. I dont recall if his was an emergency trach or hospital procedure(?) Alan Harper: [to Charlie] Listen. How much is a hooker? Alan Harper: [about hookers] What can I get in the two hundred dollar range? Charlie Harper: Crabs... And car-jacked. Charlie Harper: [about a hooker Charlie arranged for Alan] She's willing to throw you one for $500. Alan Harper: Whoa! Ah, okay, uhm... Can I put it on a credit card? Charlie Harper: A credit card. Where are you planning to swipe it, Alan? Alan Harper: Alright, alright. I was just hoping to get the miles. Charlie Harper: Her name's Alexis. Alan Harper: Alexis. That's a pretty name. Charlie Harper: They all have pretty names, Alan. You'll never find a hooker named Maude. Alexis: Shall we, uhm, take care of business before we get started? Alan Harper: [giddy] Oh, oh, absolutely. Uh... uh, no... "no money - no honey"... no, "no lootie - no bootie"... "no cash advance, I'm not in your pants"! That was four hundred, right? Alexis: Five. Alan Harper: [embarrassed] Oh, of course, five. Why did I think it was four? |
