If anyone is interested, Quillen motorsports saved me a truckload of money over retail, AND the wastegates were back ordered and were takin too long, so Travis Q cancelled the order and ordered different ones, that were more expensive and didn't charge me a dime more. That's how you do business, I would have paid the difference and even expressed that several times, but I was not charged.

Good luck with the build. Question? How are you going to drive this thing with just water in the heads. We just finished our turbo car late summer. Wait till you start buying engine management and boost controllers and sensors etc. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$. Made the rest look like childs play. Were staying with nos for now with this car. What do you figure the car will weigh when its done? Good choice for a tuner, A good tuner is worth every penny. Best of luck.

It will have water in the block and water in the heads, just no water passing thru the block or head surface. The up front money the way I am building this one hurts for sure. I had to sell my trailer, every extra part and tool I had nitrous related. I sold my engine, fuel system, cooling system, everything.

But, there was no way I could run mid-low 7s at 3500lbs and drive it anywhere reliably with nitrous. To be honest, in order to go any faster than I already have been with nitrous would require even more regular maintenance, and cost well over the money I have in the turbo setup already. So it was an obvious choice I should have done 2 years ago. There is no way to make the kind of power I want with a nitrous assisted pontiac. And I ain't interested in racing with a bowtie motor in my Pontiac.

Turbos
Wastegates
Intercooler
Boxes of piping
Motor plate
Header flanges
are all here.

I was planning on mocking up a stock block and set of junkyard head castings to start fabbing things up. But quickly realized that as much piping and stuff everywhere clearances are getting tight and my fears of small differences between the factory stuff and my new stuff have overcame me. The time and money I'm gonna have in just fab work, metal, supplys, coating, etc etc...I can't afford to do it twice. Take 60 thou - a 1/4 inch at the back of the engine, and now stretch that small mistake over 4 feet with many bends and close tolerances, and you have an entire hot and cold induction system that dont fit worth a crap.

So I've decided to just keep stacking up parts and tools, and wait on butler and all Pontiac to finish my stuff and I'll just build it to fit my actual engine, so there is less chance for error. Ive got my gig up and running and finally got a mig. I have been learning on the tig. Quillen motorsports is sending me all the flanges I need. Sorry I don't have any more updates than that. Just been a lil disappointed in my progress myself.

One of my bosses has a saying: "A stitch in time saves nine"

Basically I agree with everything that you are doing. Better to give it your best effort vs trying to figure out how to fix your next screw-up. Your car WILL be one nasty mutha!

I built my headers with a stock block and std E-heads and it came out fine. I ran into a problem when it came to the cold side. The turbo moved out far enough that I had to modify one V-band to make it fit.

I got lucky and relized my mistake about halfway through mocking up my cold side. I took a chance it got lucky I only had lengthen one side. My problem was when I went from a .041 head gasket to a .081 when I installed the "real" heads on it.

I wouldnt worry about the headers, have at it.
