Mark,
I want to say the car sold on eBay for around $5K.

I noticed the rear tail panel of that car is blacked out. I believe that is something kind of unusual for a non SS Malibu.

Here's a '69 Skylark that has been clonned into a GS 400. The work was flawless. Car is showroom clean underneath.

Oldsmobile had some unique B07 police car packages as well.

Sure would like to find this '68 Cutlass Police interceptor with 400CID.

Youtube link to a 1970 Delta 88 W-33 (390hp Rocket 455) that was for sale two years ago.

Nice looking Muscle Car. Speaking of unique Buicks......remember the Sun Coupe option? I wonder if any GS or GSX Sun Coupes were built?

Let's not forget the GMC Sprint. Don't see too many 454 Sprint SPs.

The actual pace car that year was normally aspirated. A beefed up 252. I believe the '82 GN was also N/A 4.1.

Here ya go;

These are a close 2nd to the '76 Century for my all time favorite Indy Pace Car.
The factory street versions are really scarce. I didn't even know they produced any until a couple years ago. 25 years ago I read in some literature that there were NO factory replicas built that year. Well they didn't clarify that meant none with the targa roof, or else they had no clue.

Speaking of the 304 AMC's from that time period I saw this AMC Concord X with 304 at the Imperial Palace Auto Museum in Las Vegas two years ago. I remember the Concord as a luxury type Hornet, but had not seen an "X" model before.

Oh yea....how can anyone not like the '76 Century Pace Car. I forget, the actual pace car was turbo charged and the replicas were just normally aspirated Buick 350s, right?

I think the actual track cars were normally aspirated V-8s as well.

edit: I stand corrected. It was a V-6 in the '76 Indy pace car. But pretty sure it was N/A.
Maybe I was thinking about this one with the V-8:

I seem to recall they made both a 4.1 and a Turbo version for the 1982 Grand National. Also, somewhere, I have several photos taken at a Buick dealership by me that had an 82 GN on their showroom floor. I have to find them and scan them in. I also have several pics from the 1981 Chicago Auto Show of the 81 Pace Car.

I'm actually partial to the 78 Corvette Pace Car myself, along with the 80 Trans Am. They were all pretty good looking cars back then though, I even liked the 77 Olds Delta 88 Pace Car!

Here's an odd combo, the 1964 Olds 442 in a 4-door pursuit interceptor.

Anyone have pics of the AMC's that were built in PHX with 401's in a Gremlin?
Don't remember the name of the dealer.

Those would be the 1972-1974 Randall 401-XR Gremlins, out of Mesa AZ.

The Track Cars were Turbo's, that is were Buick got the insperation to do a Street Turbo for the 1978 and later years, I had a 78 Turbo regal for one summer in the 80's, and that car was a dog!!!! Never did run right, the original owner said it always ran that way!!!!!

A the risk of posting something non-USA, heres my 1977 Ford Falcon GS hardtop.

Built in Australia, these were factory specced as follows
- 351 Cleveland 4V with electronic ignition
- 4 speed Borg Warner manual with twin plate clutch (hydraulic)
- 9" LSD rear axle, fitted with twin radius rods
- 4 wheel power disc brakes
- heavy duty suspension with front and rear anti-roll bars
- full instrumentation with up-spec trim level.
- mine also had A/C fitted.

Six Stage 1 cars were equipped with the Sun Coupe package, according to this compilation taken from the Sloan Museum.
