I have not looked at what Les said about the mounts, but believe they are the 61-64 but can be used for 65-66. In the discussion I had with him about this part, he never claimed that they were correct for 65, but said they would work.
The guys over in Sweden made some exact repops at one time and I was lucky enough to get a set. I may willing to swap with you??? Also, are you saying that you purchased new trunk drop offs? Do you have a link or part number?

The drop offs are new but not NOS ... they cost about $110 per pair but I can find out exact if you want them.
Of cost in 2 interested in the trunk mounts. Pics and price or what are you looking to trade for? The drop offs?

Not using the trunk pan from Classics 2 Current ... the contours are all wrong and nowhere near deep enough. Taking the drop offs back as well since they are not needed. Also taking the trunk mounts back since I have 4 of them and we'll rebuild them (2 on the original car and 2 on the parts car with a rotted out trunk ...) ... so if they keep to their word I'll get my $420 back.

Dents taken out of passenger quarter and I painted my first car! In black yet! lolol Just threw on some Rustoleum to protect against surface rust as the rest of the car gets worked on.
The underside - which I stripped most of - should be Kryo-blasted tomorrow! Along with the firewall ... then next week I can 1. degrease 2. etch metal prep 3. POR-15 Enjoy the pics of the body work ... and my first black paint job!

should be getting frame back next week ... then I go to New Jersey for 2 weeks for my first vacation since Danny's passing ... can't wait to relax ... then when I get back it'll be back on the horse ... and looking forward to putting the chassis together and hopefully doing the disk brake conversion on the 8 lug wheels!

well ALL the dents are out! Done! The bottom and firewall with be cryo-blasted Wednesday morning ... then the 3 step POR 15 process before I come to Jersey on Sunday.
The patches should be done on the driver's qtr and trunk real soon ... so making progress now ... I'm excited ... I'll get pics of the driver's side tomorrow.

Keep it up!! Love the progress!
The mounts that I had for the trunk are at the body shop with the vehicle. Guessing it is going to be more of a pain in the a$$ to figure out how to get them since it is about 4 hours away from me.

Ok here are some updated pictures and information:
The bottom was cryo-blasted ... the frame is back ... I found a guy who will take apart the rear and put it back together when it gets powder coated ... and he'll also open up the tranny and reseal it assuming it doesn't need a rebuild ... On to New Jersey tomorrow ...

Well I finally got my pics off my old computer with the broken screen ... and I apologize for not having any updates since June. Wow ... hard to believe but that's more than 9 months ago! Whoa ...
Well it's been a lot of long breaks mixed with some spurts of getting a lot accomplished. And the holidays were nothing but 3 months of depression for Sue and I so nothing got done during that time. Hopefully you like the progress ... I know Danny would have. It's been a great therapy for me ... much advice and help when needed from friends and God providing parts at just the right time and places to get stuff done. Well here goes ...

Last patch on driver's side completes the metal work (including a minor piece put onto the wheel lip. All moldings were test fitted to perfection as was the fender skirt! This was the last thing done before the holidays ...

some more pieces ...
Every piece on the car was stripped other than the underside of trunk lid which will get sanded and painted but it's in almost mint condition so no need to totally strip ... Car is really really straight but has nips, dings, and of course taking out the dents!! But with the 4 body patches behind each wheel under the moldings and the minor patching of the trunk it's 95% original sheet metal and other than the trunk-body mounts all of the metal is 1966 Grand Prix since we took the metal used for patches off the 1966 Grand Prix parts car ... so it's 99.5% 1966 Grand Prix sheet metal!

End of February: These are the grills. Took them totally apart and restored to better than new. Fixed/plastic welded the grills by taking pieces from other grills. Works great and the tabs are stronger than new. Painted with Eastwood Plastic resurfacer which I can't recommend highly enough. It really does what it claims ... seeps in, bonds, and resurfaces better than new ... they look awesome and in my opinion better than NOS.
Took down the surrounds with gentle paint ... primed with Eastwood Prep ... and painted with Eastwood Argent Silver Painted the black strip with Eastwood Chassis Black ... Buffed the Chrome with very fine steel wool and they shine as new ... gets rid of all crud but NOT pits so you need to start with non pitted chrome but no matter the level of dirt, dull, crud the steel wool does a great job.
