He came to Norwalk, one year after talking to me, and at that time bought Tom's 73 Firebird. Any help getting Tom hooked up with Flint again would be "good medicine" for getting Tom back on the road to recovery. Poovey is not a common name and being a Turbo Guy and Pontiac owner are also obvious clues too. Lets see if we can find Mr Poovey. Tom V.

Hi guys, just thought I'd give you an update.
This Saturday, will be 8 weeks since the crash. Went back to work on Monday. Long finger, ring finger have had pins removed. They will be the easiest to recover in therapy. Index finger may need more work. Bones set a little crooked. Thumb is still attached. It has good blood flow. Still has 2 pins helping the bones fuse. They should come out next week. Slow process of healing. Patience is needed. Still have some dizziness from the concussion, especially putting my head on the pillow in bed. This too takes time and rest. Very frustrating..............but at least I am still here. Thanks to every one for their good wishes and prayers. I hope to be racing next year, if we can find a suitable car. Just looking to run a 10.0 index class on a Pro tree.

Thats good news. rest as much as you can between work and therapy and hang in there. If you ever get discouraged with your progress just look back to when you were worse.
I'm glad you are still with us. PS A 10.0 car can be alot of fun with less hassle. I'm buildin something to race/cruise and do Drag Week type events. At my age(63) it seems more challenging and fun than just the weekly index/bracket race stuff. Hope you find what you are looking for. |
