Mike was one of the nicest guys I ever got to talk to on the phone and then got to meet him at norwalk and went down to see him at the world cup , and I remember him asking at track if I could help him pull the tranny out to change the stall in the converter and I said hell yeah I'll get dirty , let's do it ! Im so glad I took that 4 hour ride to hang out with him and help him for the day . I'll never forget it , he was a great guy . I will miss you my friend

I'm just in shock. I was going to call him about a camshaft yesterday. Such a great talented person gone way too soon. From buying his tubing bender a couple years ago to his company waterproofing a house for my parents last year. He even took the time to hang out and talk racing on that trip. Called me about a hotel to stay at when he came a day early at Norwalk last year. My dad and I made to trip to his place to change the gear in his transmission last winter. Wow what an amazing person I was so glad I could help in my own little way. Mike I always enjoyed your company and every second of your time. So sad to hear this. RIP my friend....

Not a lot to be added that hasn't been said, Mike was a great guy, with a great passion for his racing, and an even greater passion for his boys....he always wanted more, he was never satisfied... he helped us a few times over the summer, and we were with him when he ran his 7.95..he was so happy that day, that's how I'll remember him, smiling ear to ear, high fives all around!
This picture I found pretty much sums up the kind of guy he was... raining, lightning, hot trans fluid and water under him, wedged under the car lending a hand... I'm going to miss him and his "tech talks", saying a prayer for his family...particularly for his kids.

Mike was an all go, all the time type of guy. He was a thrasher and poured his heart into every single thing he did.... He cared about people, and loved life.
Going to miss him. |

I keep feeling like he and his dog bessy are going to walk in my shop and he will say.......so, what do you think half a point in compression 5 cubic inches, blah blah camshaft change and a sheet metal with two carbs is going to do?

RIP to a well respected, and great Pontiac ambassador. Prayers to his family. Another reminder that life is too short, and we need to live and love every day to the fullest.

My condolences John, and to everyone else here that was lucky enough to be friends with Mike. I didn't know him on a personal level, just from reading his posts in here over the years and following his progress. That alone was enough in my book to realize he deserved respect without ever meeting him. Such a tragedy and truly sorry to hear this...My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Met Mike and his Family at Norwalk a few years back. Wow, what a nice guy. The newsprint has made me angry. |

I feel fortunate I got to know Mike and spend sometime with him. A few years back we took his engine apart, I think he just wanted to show me it wasn't all that tricked out.
I was going through a few of his text messages today, I thought I would share one. "We need to turn Toms motor up, no more F-ing around. It's time to put the big boy pants on and go kick some ass." He was giving me advice on a customers engine, fact is he just wanted to see people go faster. Calvin Hill Hill Performance 708-250-7420 |

It's so sad that some asshole driving drunk in a semi took him from his family and friends. Seems like his sons really needed him. Hope that guy gets what he deserves. I saw the photo of his truck and it made me sick.
RIP Mike. |

Yes John, Chris, Tom and all the rest of Mike's family and friends, I am F--king MAD. I only met Mike that one weekend a month and a half ago and my heart is killing me. Anyone mad at the truth I speak, tell me to my face I am wrong!!! The only good that can come out of this is what a friend said to me today. Mike was put in this world to carry out Gods wishes, his goodness, his good heartiness, his being a great father and all the other great things Mike did for everyone. I guess he did all of that and now God wanted him back beside him. I am still very angry. RIP Mike, knowing you made me a better person. Thanks Mike |

Still waiting to wake up from this bad dream , not looking good .hard to rationalize or make any sense to it , really feel bad for his family .Big void in pontiac community , I don't know if Norwalk will ever be the same . Lost my cousin Cliff to cancer 3 weeks after Norwalk , he has met us there for 20 plus years and now this .
