I think Danica and Ricky are in trouble if they keep wrecking each other.

Looks like the joint venture between NASA and NASCAR weather machine is working just fine.
Now they can televise the race in prime time under the lights.
Well done.

Nice win for Jr., Hendrick cars were strong all night, 3 of the top 5.

Danica had a really hard hit there - the in-car replay was violent.

I thought the same thing. Looks like to me if she'd have taken the straight route instead of immediately trying to get back on the track she'd have avoided the date with the wall.

either steering was broke or the tire was down or both. she tried steering left but it went straight up to the wall. just like it would have for any other driver.

I thought the same thing.

But then, a real racer would have put his/her hands back on the steering wheel after the initial impact and steered the car straight.

The touring princess just let the car steer itself (after an impact to the right front tire) and surprise - the car went to the right...

Last year the 500 was the highlight of her season. It was all downhill from there. She left Daytona in 8th place. She finished 27th - dropping 19 places during the season.

At least this year, she can't fall very far - she's in 37th place right now - and because of part time drivers it will be virtually impossible for her to do worse than she did last season. 3 drivers that finished ahead of her yesterday got zero points because they are running for points in Nationwide. Landon Cassil finished 12th, Brian Scott 25th and Trevor Bayne finished 33rd.

The touring princess actually finished 40th, but is in 37th place after one race.

Next week she could crash out on lap one and possibly improve her standings in the points...

Or maybe not. Clint Boyer and Martin Truex Jr. are behind her in the points and after next week will surely pass her in the standings.

When a car gets the tire toe'd out like that you cannot steer it the direction you want, been there, done that.
Any car was going right, she did crank the wheel to the left, the car still went right, there was no stopping it.

The correct thing is to let go before wall impact, she did. After that there was no steering left in it.

If she'd have been hit in the tire I could agree. She had front corner sheet metal damage until she drove it into the wall.....THEN the toe suffered.............

I watched the in car, she cranked it to the left, nothing happened.

To the Chump, this is called EXPERIENCE. ho428 has actually DRIVEN a race car. You are a "leaner" at best. Leave to commenting on what a driver should or should not do to those with EXPERIENCE.

ho428, THANK YOU!!
