This picture was taken in about 1950. It is me on my Dad's 1948 Aerial Square Four. We lived in Van Nuys, and at the time there was a chicken ranch across the street.

This is from the Rutland Railroad, ( Vermont) double header going north, to Quebec. Going south these trains usually had milk cars, and a lot of them. The southern end brought goods to parts of NY, and NYNH railroad system. This pic is circa 1939 ( my best guess)

This was always one of my favorite photos, shoehorning a big Boss 429 into a 1969 Mustang. This photo represents everything (to me) that the Musclecar Era was about. Small car, big engine, no excuses.

My neighbor Dave worked at a 'bikeshop' back in the mid 60's. He had an 'Ariel' square 4. also before that a 'weezer'(spell). Drove a 500 cc single Harley to school.

Totally bogus. Back then a hot (and tiny) car (Griffith, Cobra, etc.) could get into the four-second range.

This is one of my Dad's early Harley's. The picture was taken at 6th and Hill St in Ocean Park, CA sometime between 1945-1949.

Wow. As much as I've wanted to, I've never seen one "in the flesh". As a "grownup" did you ever get to ride one?

By the time I was old enough to ride/drive my Dad was getting new motorcycles at least ever other year. I took the BSA when he got his '57 Sportster. He had quite a few other bikes after the Ariel. |
