I had never heard that expression until yesterday (totally unrelated to these forums), and now here it is again. What's the story on it?

Can you explain why it's "wrong" to put Hurst wheels on a Chevy?
Hurst wheels never came on a Pontiac. They were an aftermarket wheel, and installed on many different cars back in the day. Heck, they even made some of them to fit (gasp!) Mopars!

Not sure of the origin but I heard it on this forum for the first time myself a while back. Since then I heard someone out in the real world use it also.

OK, how about if I change the question to "Is there any other automobile in this photograph that a member of a Pontiac forum might believe would look nice with the aftermarket wheels currently installed on the Camaro?"

This is really weird. From an original 1969 magazine, here's a 1969 Baldwin-Motion Corvette with a Pontiac hood tach. They changed the faceplate, upped the redline, and changed the Pontiac script.
![]() As for wrong wheels on a Chevrolet, here's a better example. From a 1968 GM 4-page ad showing all the 1968 GM muscle cars, this is the photo they used for the 1968 Chevelle SS396. ![]() Don Yenko (Yenko Chevrolet) loved the Pontiac Rally II wheel, so much so that he used them on his 1968 427 Camaro conversion cars.

I can only hope these are not repeats. With the size of this thread, it is getting harder and harder to keep track.

The car appears to be the Bud Moore Racing car driven by Joe Weatherly, who was the the 1962 Nascar Champion. He died racing in 1964.

Ditto! I think everyone did. At you got a Krate! Yes, Honda made a trail 70 and a trail 50. I remember the 50 looking very different than the 70 though.
