Here's a dyno test that was sent to me today, keep in mind this isn't in any way a streetable set up. Also there was no tuning done on the Tri-y dyno pull so its a pretty equal start in comparision without optimising the tuning.

I have one guy that has a 68' A-body that he races in the stock class. As you probably already know hoe strict that class is. Since almost everything needs to be stock & year correct parts. If any mods are allowed its limited to very few parts at all. So weight, lift, engine size, compression ect are all checked.

The only real things they can change is cam duration but not lift. The exhaust can be anything they want. Gear ratios & stall speeds.

Anyway he spent the day getting a base line dyno test on his motor with Hooker 1 3/4" headers. Then when he got a set of the D-port Tri-Y's the other day he did a dyno test with them.

His engine was tuned & set up for the Hookers. He's ran the car for a long while with the Hookers. He did NO changes other than the headers between dyno pulls. He didn't have time for No timing, jetting tuning on the Tri-Y's. So I don't know if or what tuning like timing or jetting the Tri-Y's would work best with on that motor.

Its the only test so far I have with a 108 LSA. It does show what I had mentioned before on the other tests. That the tighter the lsa gets the more equal the #'s seem to get between the two headers. The test I posted before using 110 - 112 lsa cams showed more or same hp between the two headers tested & 5 - 10 lbs more trq for the Tri-Y's in those tests. Also the wider lsa cams lasted over a much longer rpm range the 4-tubes did.

He did not have the rpm lower than 4500 so I can see if its still a wider rpm rang of power. Since this motor leaves the line above 4500rpms at the track. He may do more tests later on another motor. After a few weeks.

Thanks Larry for the camera. Of course the raw un-coated sets don't get as much bubble wrap.

So Remember:

Its also fun for the whole family & will keep the kids busy popping bubble wrap for minutes. So keep that in mind when ordering.

Coated set = 10min of alone time (leaves a satisfied kid likely to take a nap)

un-coated = 2 - 5 min of alone time (& most likely leaving kids wanting more)

Just think what you can do with that much needed time:

Sit there & cuddle your new headers

Go to the garage to show your car & tell it all about them

Make phone calls to all your buddy's about the package without having to yell over the kids

Alone time with the wife & possibly end up with more kids (this is my personal favorite) Which would require future packages of coated headers.

I have a pattern that I worked on last year when I had a friends car for a short time. There's one area on the pattern that needs to be changed. So when I get a chance to get the car back I can finalize them. I have a few to do before that can happen.

Once you guy get them, hey you can spent your time with them any way you want intimate or just a casual acquaintance.

I belive the 1 3/4" tubes are average size, right?

All I know is I have spent many nights at my shop just polishing pipe (metal pipe! What were you thinking ) for the headers. Because the wiper die on my bender for the 1 3/4" tubing is badly worn. From back when I got the wrong tubing delivered in June of last year. So it scratches each bend petty bad. So I'll spend just as much time as it took to make each piece from start to ready to weld just polishing the scratches out. Just so it wont show through the pretty coating.

Once I get caught up & have $600 to spend I'll get a new wiper die & I'll instantly be twice as fast from no more polishing.

I think Kre will have many improvement on there heads over the next year. After all they haven't been out long.

Are you talking about KRE D's or highports? The KRE D's are awesome. My 461 engine is making a tone of power (550-600 hp)and it is more streatable that ever before. I just drove it to Gatlinburg TN for the weekend (about a 3 hr one way trip) and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again today. I just need to get these 1-5/8" Hookers off of it to really make it happy, HINT HINT.

I have robsar header's shipping on Mon & Djife's headers shipping on Tue. Different shippers is the reason for separate days.

I have Goatless's set going on next Fri. I hope to have 1 to 2 more
D-ports leaving on that Fri with his also.

By the way thanks to Rob (robscar) a few sets are going to be sent out alot sooner than they were going to be. He's a true help to me & the others that will now get there headers without the delay that was caused by the pay-pal issue. I have yet to see how many more it will effect.

In case a bus hits me tomarrow & I don't get a chance.

I need a set of motor mounts that go on the subframe not the ones on the motor. For a 70' - 71' bird. I can't use 72' - 74' because they are different distances between the bolts.

If anyone has a set or knows someone that does it would be great. Because I have a subframe here that I was going to use just for mock ups & it didn't have mounts on it when I got it. I tried the ones from my 73' & they were slightly off on some of the bolt holes & way off on some.

My shop is barely bigger than a 2 car garage & have a few uses for it other than just headers. So its going to be a permanent fixture/tool in my shop. So rather than having a whole car & not getting another in at the same time. I got this from craigslist for free. So I couldn't complain about it having no mounts. I have had this for months & haven't found any for it yet.

Those look really nice. If you can do it, I think I would rather have those 3 bolt flanges than the slip fit collectors. Mine are 64-67 A-body 4-speed coated D-ports, so if you could, make the collectors like that second picture above.

I am going to try to leave work early tomorrow and get started on the installation. I will try to post some pic's of my progress. I left the fenders and inner fenders off on purpose to make it easier for me to install and take pic's of.
