Looks great and hope to see it at the Up Rising! Did you offset that trunk seal like the factory?

Looks nice. I need to get a bumper done fast. May give them a call. I'll point one thing out before someone else does. One of your rear spoiler ends is correct and the other one isnt. Good luck with your project.

Brewster, I'm just about to install my trunk seal, could you post a picture of the driver’s side off-set you’re talking about??
Thanks! |

Will post some pictures Monday, but I dont love the way the common aftermarket gray welting fits, so I purchased some black, more flexible rubber welting off of ebay. My initial impression is that I love the way it fits, but it seems a little more narrow than the original stuff. Going to mull it over, and will post pics of all three side by side Monday. |

The factory offset the trunk seal onto the drivers side but most people place them in the center upon replacement.
Either way its one of those things that the average joe wouldn't notice. I for one just aint the average joe due to this disease I have.

You can just cut your long one shorter. It is a very easy job to do as most of us here (70-73 guys) have done it. IIRC it's just a straight cut with a little smoothing in the corners

I never did it, I only use original parts.
But I may have seen it done before.

Got it.
It looks like my wheel flares were painted in a sand box, so Ill just have my other body shop friend mod the spoiler when he fixes the flares. |

My original trunk seal seam is four inches to the right from the left driver side brake light. Will try and post some pictures for review soon and confirm.

Original, Gray Latex welting, Black rubber welting (which includes double sided tape)
The black welting is about the same width as the original, it is slightly different appearing. It is shown with the gray (painted) aftermarket welting. The black welting appears to be made of rubber and not of latex so it is very soft and follows the contours of the flare very nicely |

The connector in the middle is for Power Door locks. I can't recall what the other 2 are, I can check my wiring diagram tonight if someone else doesn't reply before then.

Your 73 looks fantastic, did you put a build sheet behind the back seat?

Finished up most if the interior for now. I really intend to restore the original wheel at some point, but for now, the repro is installed out of the box. I was able to locate and dye a nice original 73 dash pad, it turned out very nice. The console is the original. I have to admit the dark red which I was skeptical about has really grown on me.
Hopefully the motor will show up so I can install it, then assemble the front end of the car.
