I've been in a car with a complete Pypes exhaust system and I couldn't stand the noise going down the road. I couldn't even talk with the driver, let alone hear myself think. I think he was even sorry he had it but wouldn't admit it.

So if you want noise and want to go deaf too, then go with Pypes. Tinnitus ain't no fun.

That wagon sounds nasty. Are the M80 a glass packed muffler? I love how it has the pop to the exhaust. I've been thinking of using the magna flow magnapack on my next vehicle but I havnt heard it on many classics.

Carlo, Cherry Bombs have a great sound. Subtle at idle and not overbearing like some of the others. And when you back out of it, especially going down a hill, they have a great popping sound. I've got them on my 66 GTO and love them. A couple of other guys near me have even changed over to them.

Yes they are. A more budget friendly and popular alternative is the Jones Maxflow I believe. They are common on eBay listed as MagFlow. They are also stainless and seem to be a good value.

Yeah I have been looking at videos of some of the packed mufflers like that the pypes and magnapack. They all sound about the same so I guess the deciding factor will come down to price and which ones are the smallest so I can get them up under a 74 firebird.

I am taking her to the muffler shop this week for 2.5" pipes no x or h into 40 series flowmasters exit behind rear tire.
These videos are with the 2 1/4" pipes into 40 series flowmasters that I had on it with the 326 engine we just removed.
First time out since new engine, th400, disc brakes and AGR quick ratio steering. It's a whole new car, Fun Times!

Not sure on the specs of the motor except that it is the 400 that the car was born with. the previous owner put the exhaust on himself with a kit from a manufacturer I cannot think of the name of right now. I'm thinking Thrush but could be wrong.

Here is my 1974 GTO with a 389, 6x heads, summit 2801 cam, 3 tube junk headers, 3" mandrel bent exhaust into flowmaster 40 series and then to 2-1/2" dumps

I wish I could still get the mufflers that I had on my car in the 80's. They were Marmont turboflow mufflers, they were made for about 5 years & the sweet sound that came from them was music to the ears. They weren't loud but when you got down on it you knew you were in a Pontiac. It made the engine sound just like the old commercials from the 60's of the GTO's that were on TV. But no more Marmont.

update, headers installed, rest of system is the same dual with flowmasters.
throttle response is now near instant, found out that the old log manifolds had 2" compression bendt downpipes. Nigth and day difference, but speedbumps are now almost impossible to negotiate.
