Thanks for the insight Tom about the V history lesson. Really cool read you have shown us.
Well, to me there are pieces to the puzzle missing here in regards to a reproduction V head. Lynn makes heads and will fit - in theory - to a stock unmodified chassis. Don wants to make another rendition that requires a bunch of other fitment challenges, but the market seems to be street weighted sales. To me, I would really question if Don will move forward with the project.

Oh I'm moving forward!!! I have way to much invested now to turn back. Maybe you missed the part about getting castings in a couple of weeks. When you get to that point the tooling has been made, the machine shop has been paid, the foundry has been contracted and paid, the cad designer has been paid, and probably some other things that I forgot about have been paid for. So I definitely have turned the corner and can't go back. Good bad or indifferent, I am making heads and probably an intake of some kind.
Thanks Tom V. for the insight. This is exactly why I decided to make a Ram Air V head. The history and per-sauna as well as the wow factor I just could not resist. Being me though, I could not just repop an original. If I am going to build it, I am going to make it better LOL. I forgot to mention. I really hope there are a lot of lurkers here that do not post or respond. If not, I'm going to have the most expensive set of ram air V heads on the planet bar none. LOL!!!!!

The exhaust design of this head should be perfect for turbo boosted conversion. It will definetely help with head gasket issue on the #3&5 and 4&6 cylinders. I think this is where the heads will shine, so don't forget the option for a bigger chambers. Thanks for keeping the Pontiac hobby alive.

The 366 NASCAR engine, many times referred to as also a RA-V engine was the normal 400 Deck height 10.23" but with a 3.375" stroke FORGED crankshaft

I would be considered a lurker as well......And a LARGE chamber would make it perfect for what I want to do down the road!!

Just curios why everyone is stuck on the larger chambers. You will need to get pistons made for a turbo or blower application any way, and smaller chambers make more power as well as unshroud the valves quicker improving flow. So I always tell my customers when building an engine from scratch to keep the chamber as small as possible. Doing so helps in so many area's like quench, timing, flow, spark plug position, just to name a few off the top of my head. I could understand if you have an engine already built and want to lower the compression, but starting from scratch it does not make sense to me. What are everyone's thoughts?

I am looking for a QUALITY head for a boosted application. A large chamber would help. No less than 85cc. 100cc would be helpful. Choices of valve (titanium, inconel) and valve seats (copperberyllium) would also be helpful.

The 433 that I'd put these on already have 18cc dished to get 9.8 with the 72cc 48's
I'd have to go with 65cc chambers or get new flat top pistons and around 75cc to get me around 10.5 with the new heads. Personally I'd prefer the FT piston and 75, but there's another $500+ piston adder to the bill, for street use the dish would probably be ok. Now the question is, will the 72 chamber already be in it and can I mill it down to 65, or have chamber profiles for smaller to larger, and made to order?
