I agree. I never looked at the trim tag, but in my pic the little bit of it you can see it looks to be a Norwood car.

No, I didn't get any of that info. I should have taken a pic of the cowl tag. There were so many cars there that I didn't get to even see them all.

I don't think either of my Y88's have the black cowl paint sprayed so far towards the a-pillars. Guess I would have too look again to be sure tho.

Wow, I'm not complaining, but I am amazed that this Y88 sold for $42,000 at Mecum. Low miles at 15K, and from the Milt Robson collection, but there's a lot wrong for a car sold at the top end of the range. Maybe I bought mine at the right time for a change.

Shift knob, half the decals are missing, inner fender tinnerman's painted gold, shoulder belt guides. Lots of small stuff that is easy to get right and makes you question the big stuff when it's not. Nice car, but $42k is well sold territory, or used to be.

As I recall......that particular car sold for about the same # at the Milt Robson auction in 2010

Like almost always, I couldn't tell much right or wrong from the website besides the shift knob...

Hopefully there's a new happy owner instead of the often broker dealer purchase for the car to be shuffled from auction to auction...

I was scanning through the mecum auction recording at 3X speed this weekend. Its how I usually watch, then I just back up & watch the cars that interest me. Lots of nice ones at Kissimmee this year!

When I saw the Y88 roll through, it looked really nice, but they didn't say boo about it & didn't show much of anything. I did notice the seat belt guide had fallen, but figured that was probably something that happened on location. such an easy fix, who would leave it that way otherwise?

I wish the commentators could give more info on sooooo many cars. originality, miles, owners, etc. Whatever makes the difference between a 15K car & a 42K car. So many of these cars are 20K apart & you just scratch your head afterwards..

Sold for $49,500 at the RM Milt Robson sale. Had 15K miles then and the shoulder belts were hanging then too. Interesting that the belts are black. Doesn't seem like the buyer did anything or drove it over the last 4 years.

Would that be the high water mark for a Y88? You can still find early second gens for that price or less!

Seems like crazy money IMO. Seeing I own two of them, I have no issues seeing them go up in value, but something seems amiss with the price on this car.

Maybe it was the fist gold S/E made for 78 & Burt got a hold of the glove box door....

Sure wish there were more details when they cross the block.
