FWIW: My 69 GP is still for sale. Not sure it's your type of car but be easy to run 10's.
Not as heavy as it appears. About 3,150-3,200# race weight. Be easy to pull some more weight off. Currently certified at 8.50.
But it's not a 'Bird. Lol

Hi guys,

Just want to update you. Tomorrow is 6 months since the crash.

Thumb is doing well. Skin color is matching the rest of the hand. Still gets a bit colder than the rest of the hand when it is cold, so I try to keep it covered and warm. Finger nail is growing nicely. Starting to slowly regain feeling at the base of the nail. This is what takes the longest, as the nerves continue to grow and regenerate. Still working the base of the thumb, to regain more movement (therapy). Thumb tip bone has not fused with the bone below and has bent outward slightly. This will require another surgery in the summer to correct (more pins for six weeks again). My doctor wants the thumb to heal more internally and wants to wait for warmer weather, so we do not have to deal with the colder weather.

My index finger has healed (badly crushed). However it has healed at a 45 degree angle pointing down. This will have to be broken and reset again during the surgery. Fingernail growing as well. I have all feeling in this finger, thank God. Middle and ring finger have healed, but require more therapy to get the upper joints back to full bending motion. Only half way now. Hopefully the warmer weather and more activity will help.

Hope to be racing later in the year.

Glad to hear you are upbeat and healing well. By the way the middle finder is the only one you really need in racing. Best of luck with your continuing therapy and healing. It is tough keeping positive though all of the hospital visits but it sounds like you have a good outlook and are doing well.

As a bit of encouragement, my dentist's wife had her hand badly damaged in a soft ball accident. They had to rebuild her whole hand over a period of time (like your (deal). This was 30 years ago. Today you would not know she ever had hand damage as it functions fine after the repair work. So hang in there on the medical stuff.
