The whole line, front to back.
Time it was, and what a time it was it was...

C'mon, you can't mention the 65 Car of the Year without showing the cover of the magazine. I threw in a cover of Car Life May 1965 for good measure.

And now back to topic...
I recall reading something about this 1965 Grand Marqui V GTO,
being made along with the Tiger Stripped '65 but can't find what I looking for.

The interior door panels appear to have a tiger skin motif also. I'm guessing this car is probably Mayfair Maize?

IIRC The last thumbnail image is the GM-V GTO restored.

LOL! Hey, those aren't GTO shoes. Notice the tu-tone dual pinstripe.

Here are some pictures of a few of the 65 GTO's I have owned. Two tri-power cars and two four barrel cars, but they all had four speeds. I also owned a Mayfair Maize hardtop and a white 65 LeMans convertible (both four speeds), but don't have pictures of those cars. They were all cool cars, but the best of the bunch was the Nightwatch blue hardtop.

I don't know what it is about the straight axle cars, but they really get my attention. ive never driven one, so to the guys that have, are they really weird to drive?

I don't have first hand info on driving one but an acquaintance of mine built a straight axle El Camino with an axle from an early chevy van. He told me he had tried everything to get it to quit shimmying when hitting a bump at speed. He ended up buying a brand new Vega panel wagon and put the 327 from the El Camino in the Vega, and sold the roller El Camino. I have no idea if that's a common problem with straight axles, but it rears it's ugly head on 4X4s quite often with straight axles.
