They’re actually Corvette grille teeth, very popular in the ‘50s and ‘60s.

I am running a 2.92 peg leg but didn't get the 65 gear number. I would like to stay at about 3.23 or maybe 3.55.
I really want to find a 66 rear because it is also 1 inch narrower than my 67 and that would give me the clearance I need to take the coil spring spacers out and drop the car back down 1 inch.

I tried having a daily driven beater classic.
I accidentally made it "too nice".

I still remember the internet chatter from this show, the inaugural MCACN show in Chicago, 2009. Guys were all breathless, like: "oh man - they had the Car & Driver '64, and a Beswick car, and the Thom McCan give-away car, and Bill and Rita Shultz's Ram Air V car!!" "!!" "!!" "oh - and a black '65".

I wouldn't count on a 66 rearend to be narrower than your 67 rear, as every one that i have seen measure out exactly the same as the later ones.

Michigan is the king of salt. Detroit is built on a salt mine. They use so much salt here the ocean is jealous. Typical Michigan vehicle shown below. K

Daily in Arizona and Montana for 18 years, then back to Michigan. The last few years I had a company owned vehicle I drove year round so it just sat. It got retired in 2017 after 30 years of service, and sees parade duty and ice cream trips now. I'm the original and third owner; followed it down the line when it was built and drove it to the shipping building myself. K

That car was my high school car and my moms daily from 1970 to 1987;probably the only reason I still own it.

Are the square body trucks that desirable or is it they just bring ridiculous money now? Ive had a bunch of the 60s,70's and 80's GM trucks through the years. Bought a brand new 87 chevy 1/2 ton 4x4. 4 shocks up front, dual tanks,350 tbi. Rode like crap and had no power. Sucked trying to tow a car. Had a 2 tone black and white 85 full size blazer,,loaded with 305 4 barrel. Horrendous ride and gutless. I liked the looks though of these buggies. When the new 88's came out i thought they were ugly. I just dont see paying the crazy prices for the square bodies. My 2019 limited tundra i bought new is a dream to drive and still looks good. I wouldnt mnid a 64,65 chevy stepside with a nice little 400 hp motor in it.

This little red truck was/is as sweet as can be. Rides smooth, steers smooth, still shifts smooth; seat fits me just right. Fuel injected, Power steering, power disc brakes, air, overdrive trans, mid 20's mpg fuel economy. It's basically a modern vehicle wrapped in early 70's sheetmetal. Me too. I saw the 88's, didn't like them and hurried and bought this '87. I did the same thing in the previous facelift. Saw the '81's, didn't like them and hurried and bought an 80. My dad used to say "you'd have seen the '55 Chevys, not liked 'em and bought a '54". K

Keith, it was the same in Northern NY. Salt was our cars enemy. Now here in Delaware it's magnesium chloride. It's sprayed on the roads before the snow hits. And sprays all over with wet roads. Worst ever as a cause for rust.
I've had the 66 GTO since 2006. It's usually a loner at our Cruise Night because it's a Pontiac. Not all that many Pontiacs seen out shows or cruises. We have them but where they go on weekends is beyond me. Granted I don't go to a lot of car shows these days. But it does get out to the Cruise Night I do every 4th Sunday of the month. And.. I just got as letter from a lawyer that I will be the owner of a 2017 Holden Chevy SS. Sad thing is it will be up for sale soon after I take possession of it. I can't afford both cars. So, it's either the GTO or the SS. I'm thinking the GTO will stay where it belongs... at my house.

Interesting. Is the SS an auto or manual? Sunroof?
