When I was a young man my first “muscle car” was a 64 Lemans with a 66 389 and 4 speed out of a GTO. I was 20 and that was back when you could buy Insta D Lead. I still mixed in AV Gas cause she liked to ping upon real acceleration but that started my love of Pontiacs. I sold that car because the frame was so rusty (Connecticut car) that on launch it tweaked so bad one day the passenger side door wouldn’t open. I paid 3500 for that car. I drove it everywhere as my only car and only put oil and gas in it. Now I think I have talked about my affection for 58-59 Chevy cars and quiet a few have come and gone but I always missed that Lemans. In 2004 an opportunity to buy a real great shape 64 GTO came open and I jumped on it. 8500 bought me a beautiful tiger gold with black vinyl roof 64. That car was not as dependable as the lemans but was still a blast but policing and my first wife conspired to end my relationship with that car. Now I had one more 66 326 Lemans that was a good car but nothing of note. Moved back to Chevys but always missed my Ponchos. I got the opportunity to buy this Tempest and just thought it would be great to own something that no one else had and it would most likely get crushed. This has been a true labor of love but it’s been mine. Now to the serious part. I never have liked this failed engine. The cam is GREAT and I will share specs with anyone but it was just too over the top for my desires but pride is a hell of a thing. From timing sensitivity to ticking lifters to the damn temp control struggle I just didn’t like it. Other than lost money and down time I can’t say I am devastated it failed. Maybe I didn’t put the rev limiter on it because I didn’t care I don’t know but I drive this car damn near everyday and I am excited about this iteration. This is in NO way a reflection on Wayne’s ability to build an engine. He built exactly what I asked for, just be careful what you ask for.

I have the springs that Butler spec’d for my roller cam. What springs do I need for the 60919?

I’ve had few Chevys in my day, but there’s nothing like a Pontiac…GTO or Firebird. Know the feeling, this is funny had 2 police officers who had GTO one eventually became chief of police. Great time back in the day.

We’ll have to know what the install spring height is. To get you right springs for that cam.

Glad you got that magic cam nonsense out of your head and listened to reason. It's a street car for driving, not racing.

Summit 2802 is pretty tame but would make a nice driver with a lot less chop in the exhaust and good manners. Crower 60919 is a choppy sounding low-lift cam and easy on the valve train. Paul Spotts sells a lot of 041 spec cams and if you check on eBay, he sells through his store there.

Lunati's Bracketmaster II and Comp 292 Magnum single pattern cams are out there for cheap too. They all run fine in a street car. I ran a 292 Magnum for a while in mine and it had an explosive lower midrange and pulled clean to the 5500 Rpm redline.

Don't forget that in addition to lifters and a set of roller tip Pontiac rockers, you're going to have to change your valve springs. Your roller cam valve springs are way too stiff for an HFT. As far as rockers, I bought a set of Elgin stainless steel roller tip rockers last year for $120.00 new (that's what stamped steel ones will cost you these days) to replace my 30+ year old Comp roller tip rockers. They appear to be very well made and operate silently. My old Comps had some play in the axles and were getting noisier.

Installed height is usually around 1.8" but you will have to check them. Best left up to your builder who has the tools to check and he can select to match whatever the cam maker recommends..

Pretty sure E-heads have 1.950 install height. Do you know for sure what cc chambers your e- heads are 72 cc or 87 cc chamber

Have 4” exhaust my wife freaks out when I start the car. But I hear you, you can always play…LOL problem is, if you have a passenger you won’t be able to hear each other talk..I rev it just to shut her up. LOL

Run the Torker then. On a 455 it's like splitting hairs anyway with a stick shift. I ran a Holley Street Dominator for years and it was fine. I only went to a dual plane when I started knocking on 70's (age) door. The dual plane just made my throttle response down low cleaner around town with an automatic. The single plane had a really nice midrange rush.
