I'll add a few pictures of my 1974 SD-455. I purchased it 7 or 8 years ago. It is a 17,000 mile numbers matching, origional paint and interior example. I thought when I bought it I would be upside down forever, but I always wanted an SD-455 car. With the way values are going it turns out I was wrong!

Here are some pictures of my 74 Formula 350. It was my first car and 18 years later it is still in the garage. The shot with the white Trans Am was in texas. We were trying to duplicate the dealer brochure picture. The car originally had the stripe, but when i put the Phoenix Graphix repo on after a re-paint, they used my car for their online catalog. Pretty cool. It was in HPP in the June 96 issue, after paint but before i found the stripe. I drove from NYC to Norwalk for the (back then) Tri-Power Nats and took second in class. I found out the hard way they have BIG bugs in Ohio. LOL. The other shot i took on a cross country drive at the Bonneville Salt Flats. What a cool place. The car is all original, numbers matching, and i just turned 100K not too long ago. Hope you enjoy the pics.

74mula,
That is a beautiful, beautiful car. Not to take away from the other fine examples posted in the last few posts but I just had to comment on that one. I love the metallic brown paint. It's nice to see something different every few posts.

Great car 74mula!! Very recognizeable too
![]() I no longer own a 74 Formula but I am still a Formula owner, albeit a 3rd gen one. I have a very mint 89 Formula 350--with alot of aftermarket speed parts. Looking through this thread again, I wouldn't mind having another 74 to park beside my 89--I just wish they weren't such pigs on gas |

The blue one is a Formula 350 from Saskatchewan and the black is a SD Fromula off the Net a few years ago.
The red one is a 455 with the Ram Air. I saw this several years ago--and have NEVER seen it again---neither has anyone I know |

Help! I cant get the photos to Post on this site!
Someone know how to do this? I cant Find it in the FAQ Heres the Background on my car I'll Post the photos as soon as I get some help! Like most kids growing up in the 1980’s I wanted a Trans Am. I can remember my friends and I going crazy any time we saw one on our street and I now I finally have a Trans Am of my own. My first car was a 1975 Firebird (which I still have) but for some reason I was always looking for a 70-81 Trans Am to fix up. I found this car by dumb luck, I walked out of work one day to see this T/A in the Parking lot with a for sale sign on it. At the time I felt sorry for it, the paint was bad, seats ripped, it had huge chrome side pipes, small 9” steering wheel, and about six radio speakers cut in to the interior….but it was one of 857 Built in 1975 with a 455 4 speed. The car also has all its original body panels (NO RUST!) almost unheard of in the northeast. The only options the car was built with were the 455 engine, AM/FM Radio, chrome roof moldings and the interior/trunk lamp group. This car was built exactly how I would have ordered it new down to the steller blue paint with white standard interior….like I said it was dumb luck finding it! The car has spent its whole life in the Allentown, PA area where it was sold new. The first owner had put on H-O Racing Headders and Holley Street Dominator intake and carb, ram air IVcam and other speed parts that were the hot set up in the day. I found a first place car show plaque under the seats, so It had a happy life untill the guy I bought it from got a hold of it. I got rid of the side pipes, and small steering wheel as soon as I got it home. When I cleaned under the seats I found enugh beer bottle tops and cigarette buts to fill a shoe box. Needless to say the Trans Am is better off with its third owner! I went through all the brakes had the original transmission and 3:23 rear end rebuilt, added Polygraphite suspension bushings and new rear springs, then I collected all the parts to replace the interior and found an original radio and steering wheel for it. As for the engine the car now runs a 1972 455 H-O quadrejet carb and Aluminum Intake Manafold, Flowmaster 2.5’ exhaust, Heddman Headders, MSD 6AL ignition box, Nunzi road race oil pan & relocated oil filter, Ram Air Restoration polished aluminum pulleys. My plan is to have a fun street car I can enjoy driving, the way guys did things late 1970s before all the 100 point restorations, or high dollar pro street / pro touring crowd came along. There will always be a guy with a faster E.T. or nicer restoration. Having fun driving my car is what’s important to me, that’s why I bought it.

for pics, at the bottom of the post, click "go advanced" and it will take you to a window that allows attachements. Click "manage attachments", and then "browse" for the pics that you want to use. If it comes back attachements too large, you will need to resize them smaller and re-save them to your computer and try again. Hope that helps, sounds like a great car.
