Brian,I was there when a pair of 63 SD coupe were delievered to Tyree,I was racing when those cars were delievered.I know how the Tyree 62 coupe got to Fla then to detroit and now in Tenn so dont tell me about cars that I was alive to see BRAND NEW.I am just a old fart that has learned that the strange things can turn up in the strangest places.I had a car in 63 that was sponcered by a dealer and held both NHRA and AHRA when you BOTH were in diapers!I love Scott but he is a ASS HOLE!Will call him one to his face,he has been banned from more boards with maybe the exception of Fulper for exactly what you are being SUCKED into.Tom

Tom...I never mentioned anything about your age...I simply said "you weren't there".
Nobody's sucking me into anything. I've asked questions, some have been answered, some have not (and not neccessarily because they cannot either). Still alot of ??? for me, sorry.

BNP(Scott), does Joe have any proof,(pictures,documentation) that he really had the car in question? I know you said Don Keefe spoke to him about it, is Joe a straight shooter? or just a good bench racer? could Harold Ramsey at Union Park have acquired another one of these SD cars? actually you and Brian are wrong about these particular cars being "nothing special" back then, these special "factory" cars, like the 65 Dodge/Plymouth altered wheelbase car, swiss cheese cars,etc, were sought after by racing dealers who didn't have enough "pull" to get one of them brand new, and hobby racers who were looking for the "state of the art" cars of the time,as these low production cars were well known by hardcore racers back then, plus got ink in the car magazines! not part of the "inner circle". but all we have from your end is joe's claim of ownership.still some "mystery in the history"

When those cars were a year old, they really were "no big deal." They were yesterday's news, literally.
That's why, after 1963, most bigtime Pontiac racers went to Ford or Chrysler. You'd have to direct your questions regarding Joe DeNick to the person who actually spoke to him about this car. If you're interested in the history of Joe DeNick actually buying the car new, just speak with some Pontiac guys in the Philly area who knew the car. Ben Pilla, who owned and still owns speed shops in the Philly area, might be one guy who will confirm that for you. You might also want to hunt down Nick Boninfante, Sr., who was also a Pontiac racer at the time. |

What would be "so special" about a 1963 Tempest station wagon, with a smashed front end, and no engine, sitting in a junkyard in 1964? I just can't see anyone, not even a died in the wool Pontiac racer, clamoring for a car like that.

Maybe slightly off topic but one of my good friends had 5 pontiac aluminum blocks in his garage in the 60s/ early 70s, same blocks that E. Cobb claimed were his, Scott). Tom S eventually wound up with one of them in his car. So the block goes from Michigan to California (or where ever Tom S. bought it).
At the time (even though the blocks were aluminum), they were not worth that much because they were basically rejects, just like the smashed up front end of the tempest. Only valuable to a select "inner-circle" of people who would be on the look out for such parts. My car was a factory St Louis zone car built in Kansas City, but it would up in Detroit, Michigan area. It was not that desirable of a car for many years vs a old SD race car. I don't have "travel documentation" on how it got here but it is here. Does that mean the car is not here? Hell No! Scott is basically questioning Scott's integrity, AGAIN, and using Randy's vehicle as the means of the attack. You notice Scott said he never called Randy's car a fake. I think the law in America reads something like: "Innocent until PROVEN guilty" not the other way around. Why are you doing this Scott? Show some proof that the vehicle is a fake. JMO. Tom V.

As long as you stay outside of 21 feet what have you got to worry about! Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Compared to some of the "other" people out there doing work in the automobile world, Scott is white as snow. The people that tried to sell that GTO to the lady on the PY board comes to mind. We can agrue about this forever Scott and it changes nothing except soil Randy's memory. Randy was a good man, as others have said, and in makes me sad that this was brought up again. JMO. Tom,I have talked to ass hole scott at length about this,he wont call Bill Blair to get the straight scoop from someone that actually owned the car because he will still want to rag on Tiemann,it is not a vendeta with Randy but just more internet crap on Tiemann.As long as people get sucked into making a reply on any of his post it will continue.Only Chris can put a end to his horse ****.IMO,Tom
