Any 3" 4.21 stroke cranks in the mix, to use a stock length rod?

You could use a 4.250" stroke crank and stock length rods ,just mock up the assembly and then get your piston tops cut to zero deck.

Got mine today. Sweet Looking !!! Thanks to AllPontiac, BOP, Tom Vaught and anyone else who had a hand in bringing this to market. I'll be sending ICE CREAM money to Norwalk this year with Troy Tribby for you guys.
I'm going to have Jack Gaydosh look it over on Sunday at our 1st race. If anyone wants to see one and happens to be in the area this coming Sunday (Mason Dixon in Maryland), stop by the Outlaw tent. Just ask for Maddog.

We looked that this very thing and we thought maybe we could use a 3.25 bearing as a spacer, then notch a tab for the 400 bearing. It is a no go as the dimensions don't line up. Doing spacers is easier said than done, it is a hell of a lot of machining for a precision race engine. I would love to do a 1.88 rod bearing and a 2.75 main, but getting a machine shop to do it is another thing. I 100% agree with the cross-drilled issue, but now that we have all agreed, who makes a 455 crank without cross drilling with a 4.210 stroke? I can get there with a 4.250 stroke if it starts with a 2.25 rod. So, my cross drilled crank (going 7500 RPM) is going back in the motor this evening. (Even though Pontiac says about 90 PSI is required.)Lynn |

Tom- if you're talking about Kaase's 2006 EMC engine, he spaced down from the 3" mains to 2 1/2".
