The collector I sold it to back in 2012 finally let her go. She was a partial trade toward a low mileage red 73 SD455, 4-speed car.

She is a great car in case anyone is considering buying the old mistress. :-)

The new owner just drove it across Route 66 from Texas to California!

Great video. I wonder how many cameras he forgot on the side of the road while filming it.

:-)

I love to see it being used the way it was built for. Nice car porn!

Awesome video and it's great to see how well the car is holding up after all your hard work restoring it!
Thanks for posting the link

My dream is a long road trip across at least part of the country, the west. I am thinking still shots and interviews maybe a book as a result. The car will be a side focus with the people that come to talk about it being the main point. What it inspires in people and the type people it attracts and their stories will be the point. The car will be the magnet. Also interesting will be the road saga we hope. I admire anyone that does a real road trip. Your car will come back with at least a couple of chips, you may put a windshield in when done, so it is not for the faint hearted. My dream, like Kerouac, the road.

What a great video. That is a trip that would be a great deal of fun in a classic like that. You should be very proud Steve to have had a hand or two in the restoration of a piece of Americarna!

Very, very cool. I gotta admire the new owner for driving the car all that way, through inclement weather conditions. Good to see the car is back in CA too, maybe I will see it at a local car show now.

The dude has style and loves his car. What more can you say. We need to get him on PY. I'm sure we would all enjoy his contributions.

That's so cool! Steve, you should be proud. Big respect goes out to the new owner who chose to drive the car and enjoy it.
I still get a big smile on my face every time I drive mine, even after 33 years of owning it. The whine of the M22, the sound of the wide open Q-Jet. Totally bitchin'.

And thanks to the new owner for making the video. Excellent job Sir!

I think this might get a few ideas going for the rest of us.

Fantastic video, thanks for sharing! I try to drive one of my old cars every day, but I'd love to take one on a long road trip like that.

When the car rolled over the camera for the undercarriage shot and I saw the big orange E, I thought of your kid.

Man what a cool video; thanks for posting it Steve. Great music to go with a great car. Reminds me of my trip to Dayton in 09 for the Co-Vention. A 455 H.O./M-22 drivetrain is just right for a long road trip with some good tunes on the 8-track. That trip was the highlight of my ownership of that great GTO. Got to get another one!
