Congratulations. Looks like you added a little more power, but it also looks like you are starting to get a handle on the 60 foot times also.

Are you leaving off-idle?

The 60 foot looks slow but it's coming on stronger later.
Probably making boost gradually?

I would say it's got a lot more in it?

Stan
Hey Stan,

We're getting boost building on the t-brake under control, finally leaving at above 6lb of boost. Increasing overall boost to ~28lb.

The 1.2x 60's will start to get better, getting used to the additional launch boost will take a few more passes. This was the first one. It's was a bit of a change going from 6lb to 10.7lb.

I'd love to have that time slip, since I'm certified to only 7.50 with my mild steel chassis.

Congratulations! Don't stop there.

I’m thinking with the boost he’s running now he’s pretty darn close for a turbo car!

Most ET's I have seen around that time is usally 1.0x seconds?
(mine in my slow dragster is 1.09-1.15)
I suppose the turbos may be 'soft' on launch, but don't see why it should be.
The guys that are hampered by small tires would probably have slower 60' times.

It’s a learning curve for sure, and it looks like he’s going in the right direction.

As for small tires having slow 60’ times. Most decent 275 tired cars will go in the 1.10 range on decent tracks. A good one on a radial prepped track will go low 1.00s.

Thanks for the small tire info.
My sentence should have been 'could probably' and not 'would probably'.
I have no info on their et slips to check with.

And I agree the learning curve is going the right way.
Will be lots faster I believe.

We expect the 60's to be in the low 1.1x range or better. Keep in mind that we have not touched any chassis settings yet, only tire pressure.

1.215 60 foot.

Were you adding/removing fuel and/or Timing?

the boost controller was adding pressure to the back side of the waist gate in small increasing amounts very quickly -- the fuel pressure regulator added fuel based on boost pressure ie boost referenced and if I remember right timing was at about 25 degrees over 12-15 lb boost . Boost controller setup was 12lb springs in the waste gates and then every lb of c02 on the back side of the gate increased boost by aprox a lb -- data recorder will tell you exactly how much.
