Thumbs up

Bought mine in 2004! Installed it today. Looks real good. Easy to install and everything fit. You left a note that I would have about .0065 end play on the cam. You were close! I got .0045. Would recoment this to anyone. Good job! Here are a few pictures. ... Eric.

Scott,

I am very interested in your roller thrust. I think it has merit, especially with a manual transmission and flat tappet camshafts. My question is one of longevity. Have you done any extended mileage testing, or, do you have an idea of how long the roller setup could be left in service????

Thanks very much for your time...Robert

I think "toomanyponchos" Has about 5 or 6 thousand miles on his so far. I dont see a down side to leaving it in the engine, period. The roller set up uses oil from the crankcase and is positivily(pressured oil) oiled from the factory oiling system from the front of the block. It does not rely on oil splash like roller cam bearings. I still have the same one in my circle track car with several seasons on it. It still runs very good!

Maybe some other customers can chime in here.

Thanks for looking......

only have about 500 street miles on mine, but can definately attest to the quality and craftsmanship of it.

let's not forget that the chevy crowd has had this type of thing for a long time, so i'd say it's proven...correct me if i'm wrong.

Thumbs up Nice piece

Hi Scott,

I just installed one of your well-engineered cam thrust plate units on my refreshed 462. I used tacky wheel bearing grease to hold the shims and Torrington bearing in place on the cam sprocket step, instead of the toothpicks, as you suggested. Fast easy install, and a nice tight chain.

Les

Scott,

I don't have any pictures but I've been beating the snot out of the solid roller 455 on nitrous and have had no problems with the plate so far. Thanks for the help keeping the old iron together.

Scott,

Thanks for another great thrust plate setup. The second one purchased will be going in the Royal Automotive '70 Judge project for Milt.

My first plate has over 2 years and 6-7K street miles since installation. Like I said in an earlier post, no reason to tear down and inspect. Engine still performs like the first day it was started. Doug.

Scott,

The installation of the cam plate was a breeze, my engine assembler (he used to build all the new Motion car engines) liked it, and I haven't seen any problems yet. I'm running a .640 lift solid roller, that's why I wanted the roller cam plate. The car is running 11.30s at 120.20 on the motor so far, 10s on the nitrous. The car probably has 200 miles on it and 40 or so passes at the track, seems to be working great.
