I used bracket and alternator from a 1976 bonneville. Lots of them should be equivalent to that. It bolted right up to both my 6x heads and my 1968 16's.

69birdboy,

I had a car that matched yours (color, options, etc) back in the early 80's. Was my daily driver for several years!

The thing did seem to have been parked since the mid to late 80's when I got it. Lol

Thanks Phil! The wheels are 17X8 (w/about a 4.5" backspace) all the way around. I don't recall the tire size right off hand. The front tires rub a little when I drive into dips in the road but otherwise they don't touch at all.

Here is my 68 Firebird 400

I got "Best of show" for it at the 2005 nationals here in Iceland.
Placed 3.rd there in 2004
And even 5.th. at an international show held by the National Drag Racing Club in 2003
I did not take it to any shows this year.
I am rebuilding the number matching engine for it and I am hoping to use it alot more next summer, the 12+ C/R 455 that is in it now isn´t very user friendly

Here is a pic of my 69 Convertible. It is a 350 2V/turbo 350 car. I just painted the wheels and mounted the DB Redlines. I'm still undecided about putting the trim rings back on.
