Fee is the same regardless of final bid: $40 bucks IIRC. Cost to list a car, depending upon pics and upgrades is around 80 Bucks. Cheap exposure. There is no final valuation fees as a percentage in ebay motors, just a set fee, last I knew it was 40 bucks.

For what it is worth here are my best guesses for the true value (what they would actually sell for if you had to sell in a reasonable time frame) of different types of very high quality (real as opposed to optimistic seller estimated condition) low#1 or very high #2) Judges:
1...1969 HT RA III 4spd = $45-60k (less 10% 1970, less 10% auto)
2...1969 HT RA IV 4spd = $90-110k ("" "")
3...1969 CVT RA III 4spd = $100-120k ("" "")
4...1969 CVT RA IV 4spd = $200k ("" "")

Other Opinions? bear in mind that these big numbers we have been seeing have magically appeared in conjunction with the end of transparent bidding on eBay?!?

Also to put in context the above numbers, stunningly nice 1969 regular engine GTO HT's can't seem to crack 20K.

i will bet you that my raiv judge is changing addresses.it is going north,while you were all watching the 70 black judge,my 69 raiv judge got bought right off ebay.i think some of NORTH prices might be off a little on the low side.this is just from the 3 judges i have sold in the last 2 months.

sorry but this 400K might in fact be real. check the bid history and see the two bidders trying to snipe each other at last minute. i CONSTANTLY read 'value is what somone is willing to pay' on this board. yet we IMMEDIATELY discount anything on the outlier high side as fraud or bogus. two people wanting the same thing = hi price.

ra iv judge conv 200K? no offense intended but thats not reality based. i know for a fact that today desireable color, concourse ra 4 judge converts are pushing 7 figures.

I think the only conclusion a bidder can draw when the bidder ID's are hidden, is that you are probably getting screwed!!

It isn't just the price that waves the red bogus flag, it is the seller's non-description, the seller's lack of detailed photos, the seller's hiding the VIN, the seller's non-answers to questions, the seller's feedback, and the persistent rumor that the car is owned by Joe of the parts place (as I posted earlier; a rude, arrogant, a$$ of well known reputation)

I do agree, "north's" prices are a bit low on a conv RA IV, but he did not say these were Judge prices. A few decals and a Judge option listed on the PHS does something amazing to the price.

So, I may need to settle for a gift certificate since you can't ship alcoholic beverages across a state line.

The sale prices are all WAGs, and some cars change hands privately. I heard a nice unrestored 71 Judge 4 speed vert sold for 350K, and is undergoing a full restoration back to original color. But, the price of the exchange between two of the biggest names are hard to pin down exactly. They don't play in the same playground as us.

Someone should post real numbers sales to see reality. gregsgtos' have made some nice sales lately, and probably knows some others sales too.

Factors like color, and options play a big role to make the huge jump to a 100K plus trailer queen.

i have just heard in the last week that a 69 raiv judge conv.has been brought into my home state.supposed to be black and the guy gave 250k.the car needs a full restoration.all of these cars are 1 of 1 until somebody else finds one.i get jealous like everybody else when i dont have it,but i believe that the 400k is where these cars should be.i let mine go for 125k.maybe the guy that bought mine just got the deal of the year,only time will tell.hemi cars are the cars bringing stupid money,they are rattling pieces of crap.built cheap when new,and are worse now after all these years.lets all quit cutting on the cars that we love the best and congratulate whoever sold this car for 400k.next time,it might be your raiv judge for sale.gregsgtos2

I would like to make a clear separation between the car and the people associated with this car. In none of my posts on this thread have I made any negative comment about this car. It appears to be a fine example of a rare, desirable car. At least as best can be determined from the limited information.

My intent is to cast doubt and skepticism on the "sale" that occurred in this ebay "auction." If we believe that this sale actually occurred, the purpose of the seller(s) is served. We are then deceived and misled, leading us to incorrectly assume the market has been raised to a certain level when it hasn't.

The last thing I would do is congratulate this seller for his style and tactics. To do so would encourage similar behavior from others, and that would be a step backward for our hobby.

I do own some valuable cars. If "next time" one of mine is for sale, it won't resemble this one in any way. But next time won't be any time soon, I own my cars for enjoyment, not profit.

This is a legitimate sale, i was paid from one of the bidders to go to don's shop to view and check this car out. Why would someone pay 400.00 to me and not be a serious bidder. I gave it a thumbs up. As far as it being joe's , maybe it is or maybe it is don's. Who cares??? What does it matter? I just love reading some of these posts. Some of you guys know it all , but really know nothing factual. If it is joe's im sure hell put the 400,000 toward making more parts for your cars.

sorry to jump all over you 66 sprint, you were right, was joe's car then don's now the lucky new owner, car is all it is supposed to be, great addition to any collection!!! sale is for real! hard to keep up sometimes with everything going on, best thing is to do sit back and watch everything instead of chipping in on what a guy thinks is going on.

I don't know it all, but this is what I do know:

The car was poorly presented in this "auction"

The seller refused to provide important information.

The seller's answers to questions were rude, short and condescending.

The bidders ID's were hidden, we know nothing about who bid or who bid how many times.

I know Joe personally, he is everything I said he is.

My objective conclusion, based on what I do know, is that this car did not sell for $400,000. I believe it to be a carefully planned deception.

If 1966sprint got paid $400 to look at this car, good for him. Did he see cash and title change hands? Does he know the buyer? I don't think his assumption that it was a legitimate sale has any more basis in fact than my conclusion that it is nothing more than contrived ebay nonsense.

I invite anyone who knows this to be a legitimate sale to present verifiable evidence. When that happens I will be the first to admit I was wrong.

Not sure about the deal on the black 69, but there were 5 RA IV Judge convertibles built in 1969, all of them were 4spds, 1 of them was black and the other 4 were Carousel Red - all 5 have been located. Milt Robson's the proud owner of the black one and it's already been restored.

I hope you have an errors & omissions liability policy, because there is no way that for $400.00 I would say that any body's car is what they say it is, especially Joe's.

I talked to a guy back east that sold a 1969 green judge ram air iv convertible for 20k 7 years ago - not sure on what color green . Maybe he was full of BS .
