As the this post title indicates, see the "Vintage Racers" "One Quick Evolution" article subtitled "Originally built for the street, this 1968 Z/28 dominated the So-Cal racing scene".
The article uses this same newspaper image and includes color images of what the car looks like today, and current owners plans to return it to the configuration as shown above. Good reading IMO. Edit: PS - Love the gun toting BigWheeler Mike...looks like the old days in our neighborhood! Lol |

Anybody else on this planet campaign a M/T hemi Pontiac for eleven seasons? ... or has built a record breaking DOHC hemi four cylinder Pontiac? ... or has driven a couple laps of Nuerburgring with Tri-Power Pontiac power?(back in 1967) ... or has a Pontiac born the same year as Jim Wangers? (1926}

Here's another piece of Pontiac and Trans Am Road Racing history that is currently available. The seller claims this is one of three built, and one of the two remaining BFG Tirebirds.
