My 55 BelAir I bought in 1980 when I was 19, paid $1000. The 1/4s were more bondo than metal. I sold it in 1983 and bought my 65 GTO for $1300.

While sitting in one of many traffic-jams during the 2007 HRPT I jumped out to take a pic of the line behind me. Somebody recently pointed out to me that this pic looks like a scene from a movie...guess which movie.

Two Guys was a weekly trip for our family in Keasby NJ. Remember saving green stamps and trading in for 45 records. They had a great arcade, skee ball and helicopter game. On the way out was always amazed to get a soda from the machine that dispensed cup, then syrup/seltzer

I got my drivers license on a Wednesday and lost that Friday because someone thought it would be a good idea to turn a 16yo loose in my brother's Judge. LOL
This was taken a few months later (1982??) after the very tired RAIII gave up the ghost. He sold it after we put another 400 in it. I've looked everywhere for that car. Would pay a lot to have it back in the family!! |

Lightfoot, according to what I read from the Corvair Museum, that Corvair was a 1960 factory experimental "Super Monza" done up by Bill Mitchell.
GT182, great clip from Elkhart Lakes! The silver paint job threw me until I found this chronology: http://kpolsson.com/vettehis/vett1959.htm Says in October 1959, the Bill Mitchell Sting Ray racer got a new body, "made for Bill Mitchell's Sting Ray racer, made of thinner fiberglass, reinforced with balsa wood, and painted metallic silver (previous body was red)." So now we know it started as Red, redone in Silver, Red again in the "Clambake" movie, now back to Silver. Interesting factoids in the chronology, Dick Thompson suspended for aggressive driving after racing the Sting Ray in its April '59 debut, John Fitch racing the Sting Ray at Elkhart Lake in June '59, etc. |

This photo was not tagged, and I would like to know what they are.
I saved the photo off and tagged it as 1970 Ferrari 512S models. These are factory fresh, before the addition of wings, racing trim, etc. These are not 512 Spyder models from what I can tell. The shape of the side air intake ducts, the small scoops on the roof, and the smooth nose with center driving lights..... Awesome photo, regardless!
