Default 1964 Bonneville LS1 swap info

Hi guys,

I've had a look around on here for anyone who's done an LS conversion into an early-mid-60s "big car" aka Darksider. So far I've come up dry but I still wanted to see if anyone knew some specifics about Pontiac wide-track chassis and their similarities (or lack of) to Impalas and Bel Airs of the same era.

I know the X-Frame and suspension doesn't interchange, I'm specifically looking at engine mounting and oil pan options - would motor plate kits for Impalas fit a Bonneville? And could I run a shallow Holley rear-hump oil pan on my LHD Bonneville as if it were an Impala?

It's pretty tough doing this swap Down Under as these cars aren't plentiful down here and I don't have anyone within cooee whose Chevy I could measure to check if it all fits, so I'm hoping the Internet can save me

Cheers

Marv,

I would highly suggest you do some browsing here:http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids-28/

Really not much info here unfortunately on big Pontiac/LS1 swaps.

Good luck, Bart
