That IS a nice car, although it's got some miles on it.

Probably one of the NICEST "unmolested" survivor type 76's I've seen for a while.

It's uncommon to see one with an air pump (for us 49 staters)

Having the buildsheet on ANY Norwood built car is a BIG BONUS!

It's NOT "fully optioned".

Without spending much time/thought,I found FIVE that are missing.

U57 8 track
D58 rear console
B85 belt reveal moldings
P05 Honeycombs
P06 trim rings

K30 cruise is ALSO missing from the build sheet & appears to be a dealer install. (GM kit)

The "aluminum wheels" are steel Rally II'S (the sellers a chevvy guy & doesn't know)

These are just my observations,I'm NOT rippin" on it.

If it had a clutch pedal,I could own it!

It will be interesting to see where it ends ($$$).

Nice car, but I am doubting survivor... headliner looks wrong, missing PONTIAC emblem on rear spoiler, if these are different and thaey don't mention them, what else could be redone?

DEFINATELY Surviver!

Headliners, like brakes, exhaust, tires & shocks are MAINTENANCE ITEMS on 30 year old T/A's with 100k on them.

How many (73 1/2 - 81) second gen cars do you know of that still have the factory installed headliner in them (that's NOT falling down)?

Up until a few years ago,you couldn't GET reproductions.

Every car at that age/mileage will have a few skeletons in the closet, but that IS as nice as you will find for an "unrestored" 76.

I would bet it's had some minor collision damage. (they ALL seem too)

MOST restorations have so many incorrect parts & mistakes on them that you can spot a mile away!

I PREFER a car that NOBODY has MESSED WITH.

For what it's worth...I have a 76 with white interior and the headliner is definitely white as are the sail panels etc. I notice that the sailpanels on this car are black as well as the headliner. Although my car is not a Trans Am, there is one listed on eBay with a white interior that features what I have described suggesting to me that things in this car have been changed. Still reeling from being led down the garden path with my car, I just would hate to see anyone else falling prey to less than forthcoming sellers. Carolyn

XKE4: The car on Ebay is Black with white standard interior.(modified engine)
Is yours the same seat pattern?
My 1976 Pontiac Interior Trims folder lists a white interior (trim #11M) as available in standard trim ONLY.
The build sheet for the 76 T/A at the top of this thread lists trim #91N,which is called a Seat Mix interior (white seats with colored (black) interior.
It appears that a white interior in custom trim WAS NOT available in 76.
(I know in 1975,it was)

Speaking of 76's with deluxe white interiors...i just happen to have a set of decent upper door panels... I am pretty sure that they are 76's because they do not have the tetra grain inserts found in the 73-75's.

Looking for $125.00 for the pair....

Jay, if your panels do not have perforated inserts, they are '77s.

Regarding the car in question, it was an early-build car (October 8, 1975 to be exact). K30 Cruise Control was certainly dealer installed on this car, it wasn't available until mid-January. PO5 Honeycombs were a no-cost option, but PO6 trim rings wouldn't appear on the buildsheet with either wheel. The interior combination is correct for '76. You couldn't get all white, but you could get white mixed with black, firethorn, and even lime green!

I noticed that the AC evaporator is different too.

I confused. I ordered standard white interior on my 76 TA. The only things that came black were the dash, carpet, and console. Everything else is white. My car was a late build date though. I ordered it in March and took delivery on May 20, 1976. Maybe that explains it. Rocky?

This may get confusing, but here goes.

One option included white seats. White seats were available with black standard interior. You could also get white seat with black, blue, or firethorn custom interior.

Another option included white interior with colored appointment. Standard or custom white interior was available with black, blue, firethorn, or lime accents. In these instances, everthing was white except the carpet, dash, console, and package tray.

It is missing ALL FIVE of the above listed options

Although stated in a previous post that Honeycombs (with trim rings) were a no-cost option, they were considered to be an UPGRADE & became a part of a FULLY LOADED T/A.
PO6 Trim Rings were included with the PO5 Honey comb wheels in that year.

B85 belt reveal moldings were standard on Esprit & optional on all other firebird models.

That option comprises of stainless steel moldings (3/4" wide) on the back edge of hood, fender tops & door tops.

Re: Original Interior: Can't say for sure as detail pics are not very good.
Headliner looks fuzzy & should have been perforated vinyl Due to the cars age, assume it's been done. The rest looks pretty original to me,other than the cruise control switch & whatever is hanging off the left sunvisor.
