Advice on buying '98-'02 T/A
I just recently sold my '81 T/A and I really want to get a '98-'02 T/A but don't know much about them.
Are some years better then others? What are common problem areas? Things to looks for?etc.
I will be looking for a manual, t-top WS6 car.
TIA!

They are brutally fast and well built cars. Look for cracked door panels - common problem but can be remedied/avoided if not already cracked.
Look for an odd color like the gold or sunset orange, they will likely hold the highest value long term. Spring for a convertible if you can - those will be worth the most and appreciate the fastest. Personally, I think they've bottomed - and are on their way back up.

Just purchased this 2002 a couple of months ago with 50,000 miles. Going to Redline Motorsports in Pompano Beach 1st or 2nd week of June for a new LS3 stroker motor. Should be a little over 600 hp at the crank. All Manely forged internals, Trick Flow 255's, LSX 112 Intake, Center Force clutch, American Racing headers, free flowing catts and Magna Flow out the back. Then dyno tuned! I can't wait. I will be selling the complete LS1 later on. I'm not sure what its worth. Runs great and the engine is very clean and dry!

I may be selling my 99 WS6 TA convertible with 54K miles, loaded with every option.
Navy Blue, black top with Gray leather lumbar seats.
Door panels are perfect, as is the dash, another sore spot. The car is 99.9% untouched from the factory, original owner installed a SLP lid, other than that its bone stock.
If interested send me a PM.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I think that I am going to hold off buying this year as we want to build a garage and we are due at the end of July. Unless a deal that is to good to be true comes up....

You have my support
Can't go wrong with an LS1 though either. 2002 TAs might hold value longer since they were the final year. Just a thought.
