I Lusted Today
I went to the Moultrie Swap Meet today and found a car that I would have sold my GTO to get. It is the nicest car I have seen in a very long time. And, it's a Chevy!

In about a month you would regret doing that. You know the old saying " the grass is always greener on the other side" BTW does that mean it is?

Be careful now Phil. The last time a guy from Georgia admitted to lusting, it caused some big problems.
Let's just say that you like it. |

I've loved the 54's ever since. Here is a 54 Chevy that I saw at a car show last year. AWESOME! |

Interior is superb, except for the chrome doors on pass side dash. I don't care for that body style all that much. It is very clean and well done!
I agree on the regret factor sooner than later! |

Someone sunk a ton of money into that car, I would be surprised if they will ever get their investment back out of it. That said, it's well done (except for the wheels and that awful steering wheel. At least that's my opinion.) I always liked the 1953-1954 Chevys, my dad had a '53 wagon when I was a little boy.
That chrome on the dash was stock. |

It's nice Phil but I like the Goat better. That guy'd probably throw the keys at you before you changed your mind if you offered a trade.

There is a sad story behind the car. The owner got it out of the shop and took it to two car shows and won both times. But, he had a bad heart valve and was waiting on insurance to approve a valve replacement. He died 4 days before the procedure was to have been done. The car is being sold at his widows request for much less than it cost to build. The interior alone was over $15,000. Car is for sale for $39,500. Pictures don't do this car justice.

Man that's terrible......wish her the best!!
I know it was stock but it doesn't go with the new looking leather. |

It's time for an intervention. He's gone over the edge, we've gotta pull him back!

That's a cool car and a sad story, but I'd still rather a GTO!

I remember riding around in it with my dad when he was looking to trade up again in 1965. Everytime I think of this, the thing that sticks in my mind was the unique smell of early sixties vinyl upholstry blended with cigarette nicotine, which was very strong in one of the cars my dad took for a test drive. |

'50s cars have always had that unique interior smell for me. I still get a whiff of it when I see one of those occasional, original '50s cars at a show today.
