Yes,,I believe final production came out of the factory looking like both your examples,,,espeically the white one which is clear to see. I would of thought the gto in the commercial would of been a look of the production cars. I can see the GM photo being a pre production look. I like the look of the more down swept stripe than the pre production placement.I will take some tape and make reference marks and see how the stripe wants to sit before actually applying them. I also got the appllication gel (from Phoenix) that I guess you put that on the car and then put the stripe on and squeegee out the excess. Never used the gel before but have seen it done,,,,i think it was graveyard cars show.

Was an April 1970 car. D98/422 invoice car.

It had been repainted once - but they masked off the stripes when they painted it - it was evident.

I would call it more in the low position at door handle.
Whatever it takes to get under the mirror and above the door handle on driver side with a good flow to the quarter and fender would be the main concern to me.
BVZ, Cool GTO! I wonder what 'economy' gear it came with...3.08? 3.23? And no AC, but gauges/tach! So cool!

Believe it was 2.73 axle .
Very road friendly car and rock solid with excellent blue interior.
Less than 70k miles, unmolested and original.
Was a great solid and tight machine.

Had plans to repaint it Atoll Blue, but sold it to buy something else.
The only piece on the car that needed replacing was the interior package shelf.
It had an aftermarket blue vinyl top with "bend-to-fit" moldings.

Car got plowed in the azz real hard in less than a year after i sold it.
1990 time zone

Think i paid 2100
Sold for 3500
Could have bought it back for 750 - after wrecked
Lost track of it , but it was most likely parted out back then.
