My 1971 had fairly flat shackle brackets - raised center where the bolt passes through.

I think these are same as the originals. This kit has the 4 U-bolts so for a car without sway bar?

Oddly the kit for use with sway bar seems to use the later style shackle brackets with the bends on both long sides.

Not sure when they switched from one style to the other but those with the extra bends are probably a bit more stout. Just a hunch.

Rear swaybar links changed for the '75 models. The rear shackles remained the same stamped steel style with curved corners. In '84, I put Herb VSE shackles on the back of my '80, they were lazer cut out of thicker steel plate than the original stampings. Herb's shackles were 1" longer, center ti center, and helped raise ride height of the rear slightly, wish Herb's shackles were still avail.

Firebird central kit, 1st one, is wrong, should NOT have 4 U bolts.
The second one above has thicker improved shackles
Thought to help with anti sway.

I think supplying the extra U-bolts and also T-bolts in either kit would cater for customer that has stock or upgraded. TheT-bolts also look twice the length as stock. I'm not sure the second shackles are thicker, but perhaps more robust with the folds.
