Hi Steve,
When i bought my car my wife was pregnant with our first child. We had 3 in 3 years after that. 2 boys and a girl. I lost my father early 2017 unexpectedly so that made for an even busier year with my mother and slow year for the car.

I Have continuously been sourcing and buying parts and that can be an exhausting process in itself. Been trying to complete all the parts to make the motor complete and correct. Last few bits were timing cover, water pump, valley pan. Brads put aside some other parts for me like the emmissions piping, pulleys and thermostat housing.
Getting this car correct is a mission in itself with so many one year only pieces but i feel i am on track with where i wanted to be. I hoped for a 10 year resto and i am half way so i have to keep the momentum going.

Parted a wrecked 76 TA that me and dad bought before he passed.

I will have to make an update on the thread soon but haven't really had the time to sit and write and upload pics.

Sorry to hear about your father's passing.

Congrats on the kids. You must REALLY have your hands full now.

We'd love an update on the thread, even if it is to just give a list of parts that you are still in need of. I'd be happy to assist and I know a bunch of other guys here would be as well.

I remember that car now, it was here in the DFW area and I spoke to the owner at the time NJSteve was looking for his current SD Formula. It was Dennis from Gas Monkey Garage that owned it then and he sent some pics and info including the PHS to me at that time. I posted about it somewhere on this forum at the time. I found the post now, have to download the PHS and scroll down:

Default 1973 SD Formula

I just checked eBay, the white 73 SD Formula is no longer available for sale. Ended unsold.

I think he pulled the ad to revise it unless someone bought it before the listing ended.

74 Blue/Blue 4speed Super Duty Trans Am seems like a real good prospect at that price.
If anyone gets further details or engine pics , share with the class please. Thanks

I have been helping him out with advice and photos so he could get it back together. He sold the 1970 T/A wheels for decent money and put the 1973 Rallys back on.

Default cam selection

Putting together the 74 SD motor (auto non air 3.42s) Auto has a shift kit in it from long ago so I left it. I am next trying to figure out cam and converter for this. The bottom end is going to be balanced, with bushed SD rods and forged pistons that will yield basically stock compression and the heads are redone but also basically stock. I am looking to be from somewhere around stock behavior to a bit higher like the original 310HP plan from Pontiac. I have a stock used cam but I think reusing it despite it having low miles is asking for trouble.

I'm glad your helping him out, looks like you made some improvements under the hood.
I was wondering what happened to the honeycombs?? Wise to go back to the original Rally II's! Was the N98 option code 14" or 15" rallys?
What is the Formula option W66? The shaker?

What honeycombs? It's a Rally II car. In the previous listing it had a set of 1970 Rally II wheels. He put the correct 1973 Rally IIs back on.

My PHS has the same W66 Formula option code with the $27 credit which coincidentally is the same amount as the "delete functional ram air" credit on my window sticker. Maybe it was their way of denoting the credit on something other than a Trans Am?

Wow! Sorry! I must be thinking of a different Formula.
My 74 SD PHS doesn't list any credits like that. Thanks.

It went up to around 60k - reserve not met.

115k was a bit optimistic at first.

At 60k, If not a Must sale, most likely to be kept for a while and try in a few years.
