need some ideas for alternator brackets
im finally getting closer to fire up on my 55 starcheif. and i need to come up with alternator brackets. so here is my dilema. its a 59 389, im running a offy aluminum 3 duece set up. it has no provisions for the 55-58 generator mount, which i have on my original engine already converted to a alt. the next issue is i dont have 59 generator brackets to modify either, which puts is off to the side. besides the 59 brackets is there any thing else you guys have done for a side mount bracket set up? thanks john

i wish i could do that but 59 still has the reverse cooling, so the two elbows in the head are still in the way.

On the '58 engine in my GMC I used a Mopar alternator due to its shortness. The mounting was simple to fabricate. [Long story, why I needed it on the passenger side]

I used a late GM alternator on my 57 engine. I fab'd my own brackets from stuff I had lying around.
