Default 1970-72 GTO/LEMANS N.O.S. REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER GRID TYPE

YES it really is NOS...! A buddy in So. Jersey was going to use this on a 70 Lemans restoration that never happened. It's been in storage for atleast 25 years in his garage. I took it out of the box and inspected it. It's perfect and it's TINTED..! We're working on finding an original wiring harness and switch to go along with this. Shipping is going to be a lot because of the box it's in, so local pickup is preferred. I live in the northern Philadelphia area so I can meet you there OR if you want to meet at Norwalk at the end of July. Looking for $750. PM me if interested. Thanks... Mike

I looked for months for a NOS or good used softray rear glass for my 70 but no luck. My local glass dealer let me have the exact pilkington for 410.00.

I never knew the grid defrost was even available in like 70 -72 gto /lemans. What a cool option to have! GLWS

I think it was more common in the 69 & 70 GPs. I believe I have two used ones I pulled out of 69 & 70 SJ Grand Prixs. I also think it came with a higher output alternator.

The 69 GP actually had 2 grids... a hi & a low. If you had the defroster blower on high and put the rear defog on hi, there were relays on the firewall which kicked down the blower for the windshield to low because of the amperage draw. You can have the defroster on high and the defog grid on low, the system would work fine. The 70 GP had only 1 grid like the 71-72 GP window.
