Default Are these 72 HO455 heads fixable and a plausible date for this TA?

I found a local to me (Alaska) set of Oct 1st 1971 build 7F6 round port heads. One has a crack between the #4 &#6 cylinders. Is this crack repairable, and what are these heads worth? The seller is asking $1200.

Also, my high school buddy has a 72 TA built the first week of March 72. It’s missing it’s original heads, could these heads have originally came from his car?

Buddies TA been parked since mid 90’s, he put it into a guard rail. He bought it late 80’s when we were in high school. It’s a rough white automatic with standard interior, that I always figured wasnt numbers matching because it has the wrong heads.
But, if these heads came from his car, then it’s more appealing to buy both and reunite/restore.
Is it plausible that a first week of March 72 TA came with Oct 1st 71 heads?

It’s Alaska, what are the chances?

more than plausible, J of 71 7F6's is what I'd expect on a Feb or early March installed '72 HO engine. A052/A082's on slightly later installed engines.

i think you will have to send the head out to a special place to have it furnace welded.
2-way shipping from Alaska is probably going to be most substantial.
The repair probably $200-300
Paul K probably knows more about the who/where/cost of repair

I have a set of I011 that both have issue between center cylinders
So have them both checked/magged very close as part of the buying arrangement/price.

Believe Indy (indiana) Head Service is one of the major places that do the work reliably.

One of mine cracked in the exact same spot. Old time machinist stitched it and has been fine ever since.

Heat it up gradually and nickle weld. Should get stellite seats afterward anyways. Add in some BBC screw in studs and new valves. Would cost 2k to get them really nice for a rebuild. I would say they are not worth the 1100, and deduct at least 400 for welding and magnafluxing both heads.
