STOLEN - Red 1973 455 4 spd Trans AM listed on Craigs List
Guys I have had a few leads give me some info but I still need help finding our car. My original thread is here:
http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=766309 After posting the $1000 reward ad up on the Nashville CL I was contacted by 2 different people saying they saw the car in person. Both said Terry offered it to them for sale. Said it was his & had it for a long time back when he lived in FL. One person said he actually saw the car listed for sale on Craig's List sometime between March 2013 & October 2013 ish!!! If you remember seeing this car for sale on Craig's List, eBay or where ever could you PLEASE contact me? Thank you all very much!

Which state is this car titled in? Have the police done a VIN search on it to see if someone has retitled it?

Wow, If this Terry guy truly did steal it and tried to sell it, perhaps you might find a better to way to spend $1000. I'm not saying you should go out and do it. But if you did, I would understand. I bet in your part of the country a $1000 would go a long way. If he's that type of an individual, he's most likely done it to others. Be it parts or cars.

Nothing lower than a liar and a thief. This makes me so angry, and its not even my car! I think everyone needs to use car clubs, shows, and these forums for their very best feature ---- asking others to pass the word about disreputable shops before someone goes to one.
Many years ago I made the mistake of having my wife handle her own car shipping one time and she found some small-time scumbag who stole her deposit based on a lie that "no one was there" when he came for the car. When I called he repeated some filthy language about us that he had said to her... you can be sure I topped that back to him, but I always regretted he lived have a continent away and that I did not pass his name around at the time to warn others. Be careful with private shippers as well! |

Have you contacted Craigslist for help. When I look at my account, they have copies of my old ads going back several years. They should be able to find something knowing which cities and key words to search.
It could be evidence if you decide to have this guy arrested. I've been in a similar situation. Do you have any type of paper trail showing why the car was there, the time frame for making repairs, and the agreed upon price? I paid a guy to do some work a few years back with some parts delivered up front, and he kept stalling me. I finally got my stuff back, but I was lucky because there were no receipts. Mike |

I checked FL & TN. No mechanics lien filed. VIN # still reg to us here in FL. Nothing in TN. I need to check GA, AL, & NC just to be safe.....
I'm contacting CL today but I doubt they will be of any help  We have LOTS of paper work from / with Terry. 2 new threads posted on TAC: http://transamcountry.com/community/...?topic=68503.0 http://transamcountry.com/community/...?topic=68669.0 So far had one guy contact me about some missing RAIV parts on his GTO from Terry but the real kicker is I had 2 additional people come forward & tell me they saw the ad on CL, saw the car in person AND HAD TERRY OFFER IT TO THEM FOR SALE!!! I let the police know about this & I have heard nothing so far from them. Someone has got to know who ended up with this car...

May have a small break... I received some good info from a member who saw it posted for sale by Terry in mid April 2013 on CL so I am keeping my fingers crossed to see if ANYONE remembers it or has proof / pics of this...

theres a program or website out there..anything thats ever been on the net can be tracked down..maybe called wayback machine?? if you have a date and a website it can be pulled up and viewed..
i heard of it on the Yenko board...some cars are so valuable..people that have seen them, are using this to document rebodied cars..identify by VIN...one guy tracked down a Dick Harrell 427 chevelle because he had the VIN ... someone posted the VIN..he bought the car brand new and found it thru this website..now thats cool...he found and bought the car back and restored it.. i kept a link somewhere to it..i will look but ive had 2 computers crash a laptop die and another laptop is trying to die..i will see what i have well lookey there..i found it in 1 minute,,i dont know how it works or how you make it work,,but they say they have 455 billion web pages saved..and 2 years back is pretty recent to me... heres the page they linked http://archive.org/web/web.php heres the home page https://archive.org/

Thanks for the info but that site does not store CL info from way back
Someone emailed me this site: https://www.harmari.com/search/craigslist/ but it is $$$ just to do a search... Hope to have a PD update here soon!

Terry Cumming Spear, 61, 613 Hillsboro Road, Franklin, was arrested and charged with theft over $10,000.
