We used to have a really good dedicated OHC 6 Forum. I believe that it still exists, but it's a ghost town. It was sad watching it die. It was great for a long time.

I really liked that TAC was smaller and focused on 2nd gens, They kept all the off topic, chest thumping and politics out. This one is pretty good for that too, but I won't post in the racer section. I lost a build thread there at the last shut down and that was very disappointing, I didn't have the energy to rebuild it and now it looks like it was a good choice. I had really hoped TAC would survive, but as has been noted here many or most Forums are slowly dying, I've tried FB and don't find it very helpful or enjoyable as a replacement for a good Car or Boat forum. I'll hang out here a little more often than in the past but I will miss TAC and the interactions and posts of some of those guys if they don't show up here.

I was a member there... I think I joined back in '03-'04. Drifted over here when l got my '68.
It was a great group. I would suggest you active members encourage those members who want to remain active to follow you over here.

With the forum down, not sure how that contact will happen

The main website is still there: http://transamcountry.com/site/category/mainpage There's a Contact button, you could click on that and send them a message to see what's going on.

How many times does this now make that Trans Am Country board has crashed & everything was lost?

I don't know but I jumped in when I got my TA and started to do some work on it that seemed to be relevant to others. I had been on and AMC site for a bit and a full size jeep forum but as some have noted you can just drift away from posting.

And; things change and forums are like people you know and meet and drift away from >>> its just instead of seeing them, it happens via a stream of ones and zeros.

This is the 3rd time I'm aware. I stopped posting too much after the first big one and then some other behind the scenes stuff had me leave entirely. Shame about the loss of all the content and archives though, some good stuff there.

I have been a fairly active member on TAC for quite a few years now, I have lost count. There was always talk of the 'Great Crash' that wiped things out, but that happened before I was there. Last winter it went down for awhile. That is the first time since I have been there that there was a total meltdown. On more than one occasion there have been 'shutdowns' that came up an error message but they usually worked out in a day.

TAC was/is the forum i visit the most and post the most in, great atmosphere, lot's of stickeys on crusial information tailored to 2'nd gens.
If it is truly lost it will be a great loss.
The first i ever visited was on Hotrod network, HPP (high performance pontiac's) that where wiped in a reorganization of hot rod's forums, also a shame.

It was down a little over two weeks, for some reason it seemed longer.
