All Pontiac Weekend, Crystal Lake IL, August 2021, Anyone Going?
I'm thinking of going to my first Pontiac show ever, probably Saturday, especially after the year I've had with this car.
Anyone ever go or is going to this event? Anything to know beforehand to have a good time etc? Looks like you buy a ticket for around $30 online and then try to find a parking spot in a huge hotel parking lot and just hang like normal. Inside parking seems like it's for more serious cars or retailers. 600 Pontiacs seem like a lot for this area. Thanks

Is this the Indian Uprising? If so, Colossal event, do not miss it.

Getting closer, I might be ready in time.
Curious if this takes over the side and rear parking lots and if it's also on the lawn?

It's a great event and with the new location this year, it opens up new opportunities for restaurants, shopping, etc. I think that 600 cars is very doable and there are some great activities. There will be a roundtable discussion with Jeff Denison, Rocky Rotella, Scott Tiemann and yours truly.
The Cruisin' Tigers Pontiac Club is a great organization that does great things for the hobbies and the charities that they support. We are very proud to be affiliated with them and after the pandemic and all of the cancelled events it caused, we're getting ready for the best year ever. Norwalk was amazing and the Uprising will be as well. Hope to see you all there!

Saw this event and just happen to be in northern burbs of Chicago that weekend - ‘79 T/A SE W72 WS6 4-speed back in NC, though.
Looked at the site for any info on schedule and tickets for attendees w/o a vehicle to display and did not see how to obtain. Anyone with guidance would be greatly appreciated. |

There has never been a fee for spectators for the Sunday car show. I don't know what the parking will be like. A friend who lives in NE Georgia says that there are few Pontiacs at local car shows. If the same is true in your part of NC, your mind will be blown by the cars you'll see on Sunday. I am including the 3-day schedule below. I'm hoping to be there. Look for my car. BTW, the wheels are now painted in classic Rally II fashion. Kerm Weekend Schedule Friday, August 6th 11:00 am - 4:00 pm: Registration and Move-In 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm: 30th Anniversary Dinner 7:00 pm: Movie - Grease Saturday, August 7th Events 8:00 am - 3:00 pm: Registration 11:45 am: Judging Starts for Feature Cars 12:00 noon: Unveiling of Purcell's 1963 Catalina 1:00 pm: Feature Car Event with Awards (inside hotel) 1:30 pm: Seminar - Bob Ashton of Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals Show (inside hotel) 2:30 pm: Seminar - Dave Armstrong of Car Restoration (inside hotel) 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm: The 8th Annual Mega Cruise-In 5:00 pm: Generation Band takes the stage 50/50 Drawing Winner announced during the first band break. Thanks so much for the help, Kerm.
So, the show is Sunday. Saw that there is also a swap component too, and assume that may be worth a look, along with new parts vendors. Would this piece be on Saturday? Kindly advise. Thanks, Kerm. |

The swap meet runs all 3 days, as well as vendor reps. Saturday should be good; early Sunday may be the best. Hope this helps.

I've never been to anything like this, how does the swap meet work?
Bring parts, bring table, sell parts?

I'll be selling parts there. I asked and found out:
No pre-registration needed. Just show up. $10 to get a 10x20 outdoor swap space on a grassy area. Auto parts only. There is a $50 deal for vendors selling new items, but I didn't look into it. Looks like you can set up on Friday if you want, and sell on all or any of the 3 days. Since events don't really start until later Friday, I think I'll just do Saturday and Sunday. Entry is off of Sands Road. The volunteers working the entrance will tell you where to go. There might be random thunderstorms, so be prepared.
