Default RKE Transmitter (FOB) Pushbutton Cover Came Off

For some time I've been noticing that the plastic (rubber) pushbutton that covers the switches inside my 2009 G8 key fob has been getting soft and bubbling up. A few days ago it finally fell off. I tried to reinstall it but had no luck because it is so badly deformed. Note: This is on the fob with the "flip out key". Not the fob with the rigid key. First dealer I talked to said that I have to buy the whole transmitter, plus have the new one programmed to match the car. So I checked with a buddy of mine at GM and he found out that I can buy just the part I need. The GM part number for just the pushbutton cover and the plastic frame around it is 92245050 and it costs $9.60 plus sales tax. GM calls it a "pushbutton". To replace the part just follow the procedure for replacing the battery. Once you have to old pushbutton off simply swap the switch board from the old pushbutton to the new one. Then reassemble the fob. No need to reprogram anything.
