Gorgeous '72 GP, James. A '72 SJ is what I'd like to own some day. But, with air, LOL!
Those tailpipes posted above are the correct style, James, I have a pair of NOS GM tailpipes upstairs. Unfortunately they belong to my business partner and he sells NOTHING!

Too bad about the NOS tail pipes, they could be put to good use. I understand about hanging on to parts though. |

I wonder if Inline Tube might offer those tailpipes. Same tailpipes fit all 1970-1972 GPs, and all dual exhaust '70-'72 Tempest, T37, and LeMans.

Very beautiful car.. but then again I'm very partial to GP's. Looks a lot like my Triple Black '71 SJ and got me to wondering about the SJ package. Yours was ordered with a bench seat, column shift, no power accessories, and no air??!! Trying to figure out what the original owner had on his mind when he ordered it?. Usually folks go all one way or the other, so this person tossed in a 455 for good measure but deleted other elements. Go figure. Anyway, have fun with the car and just try to keep it under 100 on the highway.

The second owner (who was friends with the original owner) told me it was ordered as a "sleeper". The bench seat & column shift were ordered so as not to attract attention, but the 455, Saf-T-Track and ride & handling package were the goodies that wouldn't be seen by the casual observer. As you know, there are no 455 badges on the exterior of the car, so unless you knew what the SJ was, you'd have no idea. Even then, there is only the one front fender badge on each side, down low. Not that it's a speed demon by any means, but probably caught a few people off-guard back in the day. |

Here are a few more detail shots. I believe this to be the original PCV hose. The PCV valve was replaced at 61,900 miles (per the maintenance records), but looks to be a GM part.

thanks for the compliments. Wish I could take credit, but have to thank the 1st and 2nd owners for taking such good care of it. I'll do what I can to maintain it. Mike/John, the Protect-O-Plate shows 11499. I assume this is the dealer code? It's from Ernie Von Schledorn in Menomonee Falls, WI originally. Hope that helps. Will post more detail pics when I get time. Still need to grab the build sheet out from behind the rear seat too one of these days... James |

Yes, that is the zone and dealer numbers.
Thanks! BTW, I have it as 11 499 - Scheldorn and the Buick one is 30 105 - Schledorn. Your last spelling of it correct? Spelling makes a difference I guess.
