Default Chevy Thermostat housing

I was wondering if a chevy thermostat housing is the same bolt pattern as a Pontiac? I am looking for a 90 deg adjustable housing. It looks the same but don't have a chevy one laying around,
Thanks

No, chevy is about 1/8-1/4 inch different. I have taken a rat tail file and elongated the holes in the chevy housing when I needed a replacement, and could only scare up a chevy housing.

Some of the aftermarket housings come with elongated holes from the manufacturers so they can fit different applications, however the GM housings are only one pattern.

Same as universal housings, some aftermarket gaskets have the elongated holes. For a Pontiac manifold, a Pontiac specific gasket will also work with a modified chevy housing.

I hope that answers your question.
