Cool - I just found one of those this weekend that my dad took off of his '68 when he traded it in 35 years ago. I figured with the repros it was't worth much.

Are the reproductions not as good as the original stripes? Just curious

weird thing is that doesn't look like the old style GM boxes. How old do you think those decals really are?

If GM was smart, they would start re-producing some of that stuff. Might help the pickle they are in. Heck they own most of the rights anyway?
I don't mean just decals, but anything that is in demand. in the restoration world that is GM.

I have some stripes I bought in about 1981. They're in boxes like that.

81? Maybe I am just getting old, or remembering something different.

I have a complete nos set of stripes still in boxes i purchased from a original owner that had sold his car before redoing . He bought them sometime in the 70's he says, and they where stored in cold storage for years. They (gm) had told him to store in cold area to preserve them . I have checked with local stripe companies and they say they would be fine,I myself keep in cool storage also. I have never opened the boxes (stapled shut from factory) because i don't think they would be as valuable opened. I don't know ? What do you guys think? I did see the ebay stripe kit and will compare boxes.I will post pictures if anybody is interested. I do own a real 69 judge with after market stripes but they don't reflect like my old friends (gone judge) use to.I purchased them incase someday I might change mine. But i'm afraid to open the boxes> Thanks for any replies .

Only 1970-71 Judge stripes were reflective. 69 stripes were just regular striping tape. The repro stripes that Year One sells are ten times better than the originals.
They are made especailly for Year One by a Mopar decal vendor and they line up perfectly from panel to panel, i.e. there is no variation in width of the individual 3 color
stripes on the decal. The stripes the other vendors sell have the mismatches like the
factory stripes did. I wouldn't pay 50 cents for a set of original decals that have never
been out of their boxes. They look like crap compared tO the Year One reproductions.

wow! I would have to disagree with you because the 69 gto judge I have pictures of before it was sold does reflect on the car ,The car was completely original with 65,000 miles,I grew up with this car since new road to school in it etc.,never repainted . I took picture with a flash at night and they did reflect.I tried that with my after market stripes and they suck. Where did you get your info from (gtohurstjudge) or do you have or seen a original stripe? Thank you for your input. I will try to scan picture if I can.

I have several boxes of original stripes sitting on my shelf....They are not reflective. Back in the 70's I bought stripe sets because I knew they would be discontinued. Some were used on my car over the years, some I sold to others after
you couldn't get them anymore. The stripes I have left have such terrible mismatches
between panels that I would not attempt to sell them to anyone for fear of reprisal.
Back when these cars were new I was going to the University of Texas. whose scool
color is Orange. The campus was crawling with Orange Judges back in 69. I looked
at them everyday and they did not have reflective stripes! I also parted out several
original Judges back in the mid 70's that still had their original paint and stripes. None
of them had reflective stripes.

Heh gtohurstjudge thanks for your info.I honestly didn't know that they aren't reflective. I checked my pictures of the judge taken and i can't explain why they do stand out. They don't reflect as much as the 70,71 I have seen, but they did seem different. My aftermarket stripes are from ames. Maybe thats the only difference. Maybe I should start a thread on pictures of 69 judge stripe comparisons ? lol ps.( I'm going to keep stripes for another project I'm working on.)

The Ames stripes are made by Stencils and Stripes. They usually feature
the varying widths of the three individual stripe colors and mismatches from panel to panel. Some sets are better than others. The Year One Stripes are made exclusively for them by Dale's Cuda Shop. Besides being absolutely perfect as far as stripe width
consistency, they have another great feature no one else's stripes have....The stripe
is printed on tape that is yellow through and through. If you have black red yellow or
blue red yellow stripes, the outer edge can't get the color worn off from, washing,
waxing, etc. This was always a problem with stripes printed on white backing like
the originals or everyone else's repros.
