Hey guys I want to introduce myself to you. I am a long time Reader, first time Poster! My name is Chris and I own a 1967 Pontiac Firebird. I'm currently rebuilding the 462 motor for Street/Strip use. Its got a TH400, automatic, 3000 stall, UD 231/239 cam 110 LSA, 373 gears, RPM intake, E-heads with 10:1 CR, 100-300 shot NOS system.

What carb and carb size(mechanical/vacume secondary) would you recommend for the the best power, yet maintaining nice idle and driveability, including power brakes? Holley DP, HP series OR a Barry Grant Speed or RACE Demon?
I was looking at the BG 825 Race Demon with Downleg boosters, but am not sure if that is too much formy CArb. How are the Barry Grants anyway don't know much about them since they are pretty new to the scene....Put out good power & driveability? Also- the Race Demons don't come with a Choke- will this be a problem in cold weather or can I make adjustments to help with cold starting(ex: adjusting metering screws)?
-Also, what Pistons/Rods would you recommend? SRP'S/Ross Forged Pistons? Crowler/Eagle Rods?
-Do you Prefer the RPM intake over the Torker or even a Victor Junior intake for my application?
Thanks a bunch, Chris
PS: Don't take my screen name personally- its just what I have on my license plate to scare away the Ricers!
